{One Room Challenge} Mad Men Meets the South Living Room Reveal

in Living & Family Room, One Room Challenge on 11/10/16

Well, today is the day! It is One Room Challenge reveal day! I am excited to share our transformed living room. It has been one crazy six week journey. If you are not familiar, the One Room Challenge is where you redo one room in your home in six weeks. Of course, my space was filled with DIY projects which always makes things more complicated.

Let’s recap the journey. Six weeks ago we decided to give the Living Room a facelift using the “Mad Men Meets the South” theme. This was the vision.

For those popping in for the first time, we tackled our living room this go round. This is the third time I have partaken in the One Room Challenge- first time was our master bedroom, then the family room/dining room. All three times have been challenging but this go round was low on time.

So without further ado, here is where we landed.

We decided to have some art commissioned for this room. I love the abstract black and white- it makes a statement but is very neutral.

Are you hysterically laughing yet? Do you really think I had art commissioned? This was done by yours truly.

The mantel is very much Mad Men Meets the South.

Thanks so much for stopping in to take a look at our space.

Special thanks to the sponsors Velvet Finishes and At Home for their contributions to this room. Thanks to Linda from Calling it Home for hosting this fun event every spring and fall. This is my third time participating and every time I say this is going to be my last time!  Let me tell you, doing a room in six weeks is intense but I am always so grateful to have the space completed once I finish.  I will be back with full tutorials of the DIY projects including the painted leather ottoman, slipcover ottoman, and the large canvas.

Until then, I am off to relax and enjoy this room!

xoxo-

Heather

I’ll commission you to do a piece of art for me!! If that means you will grab a canvas and hop on a plane to come visit me so we can DIY & go thrifting together haha! Love how the space came together…nailed it with the rug and I love your leafy stems throughout. Oh and the leather ottoman is GORG! And you look lovely in the space, too! Yay for being done! xo
