Next stop on the Peach Valley House Tour is our Southern Back Porch Outdoor Room
we affectionately refer to as “The Hub”
When it came to getting settled in the new digs, The Big Sweet and I each had our short list of priorities. Mine was getting the garage set up to feel like a workshop for getting my craft on. The Big Sweet’s was getting a TV mounted on the back porch.
In fact, I think he had the TV mounted about 5 minutes after the movers pulled out of the driveway.
Ha. Maybe not quite that urgently, but we both knew this spot would be where we would be spending lots of time hanging out.
And let’s not forget about football season, y’all.
Before we had even officially moved in, we both pulled up our college team’s football schedules and penciled in which games we would be parking it right here on this couch to cheer our players on this fall!
While it is still S-T-E-A-M-I-N’ hot here in Atlanta, I do know cooler temps will eventually provide some relief and can’t wait to light a fire in the fireplace!
And let’s not forget about S’mores. I have stocked up on the necessary ingredients so we are ready when the mood strikes.
Among our wish list when it came to finding our next home, an outdoor room was on the top of my list. I am beyond excited about this space!
I’d love to get a big outdoor sectional for this room someday. But I am definitely happy with the way our existing porch furniture is working for now.
Here is the view from the firepace. You can see how this room lays out from the house. It is all level from the main living area and kitchen which will be great for entertaining on football Saturdays!
For this late summer mantel, I stuck my Coastal Flag Pallet (link to tutorial here) up that I created years ago. I can see changing this out for more of a fall/winter look once it cools off.
While the vaulted ceiling has two ceiling fans and lights, we snagged several light strands on sale and hope to get those strung up soon.
We have already spent lots of nights out here and have started calling this space “The Hub.” (and yes, we stole that name from one of our favorite spots on 30-A in Florida!)

Can’t wait to hang out on this back porch someday. Maybe sooner than I think.
