{Peach Valley House} Eat-In Kitchen

Good morning! It’s been a rainy couple of days here so we’ve been a bit holed up at the house. But that is actually not a problem since there is P-L-E-N-T-Y to keep us busy around the house these days. So far, the second week of school has been ok, and we are embracing the 7pm bedtime and 6:15 wake up call! 

Today I am going to continue the tour of Peach Valley in it’s current state. At this point, we haven’t purchased anything new so it’s been fun to use what we have to make it all work. I know things will evolve over time so it will be fun to look back and see progress over time. Last week I shared the Living Room and today it’s the eat-in kitchen dining area. 

All of this furniture should look familiar since we used it at the last house, in the One Room Challenge Reveal.  We did however, inherit the fun built in bench.  I am pretty happy with how well the furniture is working in this space! 

I painted those blue parsons chairs over a year ago and they are still holding up well. YES! I painted them. And I actually FINALLY wrote a tutorial on them that I will share later this week. 

I recovered the two dining chairs a few years ago (fabric is called Udder Madness).  Here is the tutorial if you want to update your chairs- it’s one of the easiest DIY projects you can tackle! While I do like the way this all works together, I will likely be changing out this fabric at some point. Between the cognac bench and the cow print, it feels a little cowboy to me. 🙂

Here you get a glimpse of the kitchen. I will definitely be sharing that room soon in it’s own post. 

The previous owners left all of the window treatments which has been a huge help in making the house feel “done” right off the bat. She was even sweet to drop off a bag of her samples she used so I can reference paint colors, wallpaper and fabric! This shade fabric is Schumacher Villa De Medici in Greige. 

The built in bench is done in a cognac faux leather vinyl called Joseph Noble Hidalgo. I absolutely love the color and it truly looks like aged leather.  When I read about this choice, it seems pretty indestructible and reasonably priced. I will say however, it is kind of slippery for the boys to sit on. But hey they are kind of slippery all around at ages 6 and 3. 🙂

Alright, I am going to get back to working on Sweet B’s room this week! It’s time to turn it into a big boy bedroom and say adios to the crib.
