{Peach Valley House} Living Room Progress

in Home Tour on 07/24/17

Hi friends! I hope you had a great weekend! I spent mine at the Haven Conference here in Atlanta with my “people” learning, networking and enjoying some fun girl time with some of favorite fellow bloggers! Now that I am equal parts inspired and exhausted, I am looking forward to our last week of summer. Can you seriously believe my little man starts kindergarten next week? NEXT WEEK. I think I am still in denial! Y’all, seriously- how can this be possible?

As sad as I am that the summer break is about to come to an end, I do admit that I am happy that I will have some time to finally go through the boxes around here! While we have made lots of progress, things are still taking twice as long to do since I can’t find a thing. #whereisthepepper

But before we get started with the room tour today, I am excited to share that the new house also has a name that I will refer to here on the blog. This is now officially the “Peach Valley” house!

Welcome!

While every cabinet, closet and drawer feels like a black hole, there are some rooms that came together quickly using all of our existing furniture.  I am going to share some of these rooms with you over the next couple of weeks. Today it is the main living room area.

I am thrilled with how well our existing furniture is working in here! (***and so is the Big Sweet $$$) We haven’t bought any new furniture pieces and were able to reuse all of this from our previous home. It’s been fun to see it all come together here after thinking about it for a few months before we officially moved in. There are still a few pieces we will need to buy (we have zero formal dining room furniture) and we plan to live here for a little while before making any purchases. .

COFFEE TABLE  |  VINTAGE INSPIRED RED RUG  | INDIGO SHIBORI PILLOWS | NAVY VELVET PILLOWS

I was also thrilled that both of the rugs we had in our dining space in the last house worked so well to anchor this room. I remember being so worried about buying such a bold bright pinkish red rug. But I still love the way it pulls the room together and was so inexpensive and easy to clean. #triplethreat

Everyone that comes over comments on how they impressed they are that pictures are hung. I can’t really take credit because I just stuck these DIY silhouettes (click here for tutorial) where there were already nails and they work. Not sure if they will stay but it’s a little win for now.

The built-in shelves were also among the first things to get done. My Mom and Dad came down to help us move in and while Dad was hustling in the garage, Mom unpacked all of the boxes of fun home accessories. Then she made me stop what I was doing and work on the shelves so the room would look finished.

Well Mom knows best because it definitely instantly made the space feel like we had been in here forever!

One thing we do love about this house is the open floor plan of this main living area. Here you can see the kitchen is right off the living room space.

I am so excited to see this space evolve with life over the coming months but am pleased as a peach with how well it is already functioning for our family.

Thanks for stopping by Peach Valley and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Very pretty! I love all the blue and white. It does look like you’ve lived there forever! Do you remember where the navy blue side chair is from? I’m looking for something similar. Thank you!

Thanks Elizabeth! That was actually a Goodwill find around 5 years ago. Wish I could source it for you! xoxo
