And just like that January is coming to a close! Since I have had a case of “January” around here, I am thrilled to be welcoming February on Saturday! With February only days away, I wanted to do something simple to show the boys how much we love them and how proud we are of them.
So I dug through my construction paper stash and pulled out all of the pinks, reds and purples and cut out 28 hearts in various sizes and colors. Each boy will get 14 hearts on their doors starting February 1st until February 14th!
I think this is a fun way to really extend the holiday from only one day to the entire first half of the month and a fun excuse to let them know what we love about them.
Our five year old is enjoying sounding out his words, so it will be a good way to practice reading too each morning.
I didn’t bother to do anything fancy. This was all just cut freehand using whatever colorful paper I had on hand. I used a simple black Sharpie to jot down the words. I knew if I made it more complicated, it wouldn’t get done! (I also knew that if I waited until I had a manicure to share this, it also would never get done!)
I wanted to share this simple Valentine Door Decoration idea so that you could also start something similar in your home this year!
I hope to make it a tradition every year! Happy (almost) February!

Thank you so much for this wonderful idea! My kiddo and I have been sick for weeks, and this will be a great pick-me-up for both of us!
I’m going to make hearts for my husband, too!
