Well we made it home in one piece from our skip trip and so I call that a win! We extended our long weekend and did our ski trip over President’s Day instead of spring break this year. It was our first time in Beaver Creek, Colorado. Loved the mountain- lots of my kind of fun blue runs. Loved the easy flight and proximity from the airport. The kids loved the Candy Cabin and the Cookie Cabin- a treat they are famous for!
Overall, for me a successful ski trip means: no injuries, improving in skill, not being miserably cold, and of course LOTS OF FUN! And this trip checked all of those boxes.
We went with a large group so there was always someone to ski with and the kids had a blast pairing off in different combinations throughout the weekend. The boys were all chomping at the bit to tackle a black diamond and were thrilled to finally get to do it!
We found a big house to accommodate our large group in the Bachelor Gulch part of the mountain and it even came complete with a media room. You better believe we all watched Maverick one night after a long day of skiing!
Is there anything better than morning coffee, a fire, a puzzle and stunning views? The answer is no. We were up so early every morning being on east coast time and I loved having a puzzle to work on. I brought this puzzle with me and wasn’t sure it was going to get finished before we left! But when there is a will there is a way and I got it done on the last night.
I am already dreaming of next year’s ski trip! This is our third ski destination we have explored and I have loved so many things about each of our trips -it’s hard for me to pick a favorite.

Wow! What a fabulous house! Whoever is in charge of Penlers travel does a good job! So glad the boys are learning to ski at an early age! You all look so cute in your ski clothes
