Happy Fourth of July Eve! And happy Southern Sunday Funday, where I share a collection of fun things that caught my eye and inspired me over the past week. Since summer is on my mind this week it is full of goodies perfect for July.
- The older I get, the more
wisepale I am. Back in the day, we used to spend hours basking in the sun but now when I hit the pool I make a beeline for the most shade I can find and park it. If I HAVE to move from the shade, I am sure to lather up and of course, I wear a hat the entire time. I used to be ok with just grabbing the Big Sweet’s hat but I have become kind of obsessed with cute baseball hats for girls. Because they really can be a fun accessory and not just an afterthought! These embroidered hats from Harding Lane are so cute and there are so many fun styles to choose from.
2. Need a good summer read? Three words: Me Before You. I started reading it when we were in Hilton Head and finally got a chance to finish it this week. Warning: it will make you feel all the feels. (for the tutorial on the DIY Off Duty hat click here)3. When my friend texted me this pic of her shirt on her way to church saying she thought this would be “Southern State of Mind approved”, I gave her a big thumbs up. I love the way she styled it with the white and chunky beaded necklace. (and can we all just give her a round of applause- she looks cute for church, is wearing lipstick, and she has FOUR KIDS y’all. well done, mama, well done.) Mine is on order and I hope to share some outfit ideas for it soon so go ahead and order one- it is currently on sale and I think it will be a great piece for summer that will transition great to fall.
4. Speaking of hats, I am seriously crushing on these Aviate hats I have seen pop up on my Insta feed lately. They are hats with all of the cities airport codes- so cute! I love this red one- ATL pride!
5. I’ve had my eye on this dress for a few months and was excited to see it on sale for 50% off plus another 15% when you use the code HAPPYSALE bringing this dress to around $40. Gotta love a no-fuss dress you can throw on from the beach to dinner.
Happy Fourth sunshines!
xoxo-
