Just call me Oprah because I thought it would be fun to start a little Southern-State-of-Mind-Book-Club-if-you-will and start discussing some faves or recommendations here on the blog. Now, before this past summer, I hadn’t read a book for pleasure in what felt like years. Something about having two little ones didn’t exactly allow me to just kick my feet up and relax too often. But lately I have managed to squeeze a few in and wanted to share one of my recent reads that fits my Christmas theme perfectly- Blue Christmas by Mary Kay Andrews.
Mary Kay Andrews has become one of my favorites for light casual reads and this one is even more short and sweet than her normal ones. The Sweets and I walk to our local library often and on a recent trip I checked out Blue Christmas. I figured it would be a great holiday read and I liked that it was short. I actually read it in one sitting on our flight a few weeks ago and it definitely got me in the holiday spirit. In fact, it is probably why I landed on having a Blue Christmas this year.
Here is the description:
This is a sweet little read perfect for this time of year!

I think a blog book club would be great. Right now everyone is so busy short reads like the one you mentioned would be good. I just finished a 7 book series and was sad when it ended, I really could not put the books down. I love all your BLUE decorations. I wonder where that came from???
