I think I have finally recovered from our week at the beach last week with my besties and all of our kids! Of course we stayed up way too late, woke up way too early and I don’t think any of us ever stopped talking or laughing. After nearly 30 years of friendship, 11 kids and a pandemic, my high school bestie group was FINALLY able to pull off a beach week with our kids last week. It was chaotic, hilarious and an absolute joy spending time with this crew and getting to know their kids better.
The five of us have been friends since middle school and high school and while we don’t get to see each other as often as we should these days- we have an ongoing text chain that keeps us all pretty much in the loop with each other’s daily lives. These ladies are my human diaries and are part of so many of my favorite (and hilarious) stories. We celebrated 16th birthdays together (then drove around aimlessly for hours and hours together), were in each others weddings, roommates in college, roommates back in Atlanta in our 20’s, and of course hosted alllll the baby showers for each other. When our kids were smaller we were better about getting them together but it had been a very long time since all of us had spent time together and we decided it was TIME!
So we hatched a plan to head to St. Simons Island for a beach week and the rest- as they say- is history. The dates were set and the house was rented and we were on our way! It was SO great to get our babies together- although the beautiful thing about our timing was that none of them are actual babies anymore! The kids clicked right away and as you can see, kept us moms on our toes.
The rental house was just a few minute walk to the beach and decorated super cute. It even had this little swing on the tree outside which was occupied most of the time we were home. While it was a cute little house, it ended up having some plumbing problems while we were there. For some this problem might have ruined their trip, for us it was just another hilarious story we will be telling for years to come.
We were quite the sight herding our pack to the beach.
This cracks me up because my friend and I showed up wearing the same exact swimsuit. In our defense, it is super cute and flattering- you can shop it here.
The house was also super close to the St. Simons village and lighthouse so we walked there one morning for an outing. Then we proceeded to get poured on… which of course led to another hilarious story.
Thankful for this crew and this special week! We are already planning our next trip … although we all agree it’s just us moms turn for a fun getaway!

So fun H! Glad you all were able to pull that off and how fun that you’re all still so close. That’s rare my friend.
Looks like a great week with long time friends!!! I have to say it again, I LOVE your animated boys!!! It looks like there is never a dull moment. Continue making wonderful memories.
