Happy Monday! We arrived home late last night from our Chapel Hill getaway and it is great to be home, even with the mounds of laundry and long to-do lists that have piled up. It was fun to be back where we were newlyweds 10 years ago and I hope to give you a quick write up of our trip soon. We have had a fun run of trips lately and last week I shared our recent trip down to Sea Island. When we received the invitation to the beach destination wedding I knew the fun occasion called for a new dress. Many of you commented on how you liked it so I thought I would share the deets today in case you are in the market for a fun summer dress.
I absolutely love the two dresses I found to wear especially because I know I will be able to wear them again.
On Friday night, we went to the St. Simon Lighthouse for a welcome party and I definitely wanted to find a new dress for this. When I found this dress online, it was so out of my normal style but figured I would give it a shot. I am so glad I did! I love it and know that I will be finding lots of reasons to wear it this spring and summer. It definitely can be dressed up or down.
My favorite detail of this dress is the back tie scarf. NOTE: I went with a size 6 and I am 5′ 8″. It was LONG and would have dragged on the ground without heels.
I went on the hunt for new shoes and after ordering 37 pair (I kid… but thanks for the free shipping Nordstrom), I realized I had the perfect pair in my closet so ended up going with them. However, if you end up getting this dress and need some shoes, I think this pair from Nordstrom would have been a great option to go with. They were pretty comfy and the price was right.
I am already scheming up reasons to wear this one again!

The wedding Saturday night was black tie optional so at first I thought I would go out of my wedding guest norm and wear something long. Especially since I knew the Big Sweet would be rocking his tux. But since I found the long fun scarf maxi for Friday night, when I found this short navy lace dress I was sold. I found it at an actual Nordstrom location (on sale!) and sadly I can’t find it online. The brand is Eliza J- I love the zipper back and the fit was perfect. They do have some cute similar navy lace dresses that would be worth checking out here and here.

Again, I went on the hunt for new shoes and then realized I had the PERFECT pair in my closet. These green heels were handed down to me from a very generous friend and I was excited to finally have a reason to wear them. You know I am a sucker for green and navy and I loved the pop of green with the dress.
If you don’t want to splurge on the same shoes, these look like a great Nine West option for a fraction of the price. I bought the clutch a couple years ago and it really does go with everything. I can’t find the exact one online, but here is a pink one!

Alright, I guess it’s time to stop dreaming of pretty dresses and face the real world of mom chores. Hope you have a great week!
