Happy Taco Tuesday my friends, and what a fun coincidence that it’s also Cinco de Mayo! Even though we can’t have a big fiesta at our fave Mexican joint, we are still planning our own Taco Tuesday fiesta at home. In case you missed it, I kicked off a new series last week called Taco Tuesday where I will be sharing some of our fave at-home recipes. Today it’s all about a delicious and light cocktail called Ranch Water.
If you’ve never heard of Ranch Water, let me fill you in! It’s a simple drink made with only three ingredients. If you like margaritas, but want a less sweet, more diet-friendly cocktail to compliment your Taco Tuesdays – this could be just the drink you are looking for this summer!
INGREDIENTS || Ranch Water Cocktail
Topo Chico: Topo Chico is a carbonated mineral water with the perfect amount of fizz and a hint of citrus.
My Mexican-food-loving-partner-in-crime-neighbor went to her college reunion in Dallas last year and then came home and promptly introduced me to a new mineral water called Topo Chico and my life has never been the same. Back when we “discovered” this yummy mineral water- the only place we could find it was at a Farmers Market over off of Buford Highway. This was a good 30 minute drive for us. But this did not stop us from purchasing every case we could get our hands on. Seriously, we were partners-in-crime on a serious Topo Chico mission! The good news is that our local grocery store (Publix) now carries this delicious drink so we can enjoy our Ranch Waters much easier.
Silver Tequila: Silver is my preference for this drink. If splurging, we like Casamigos. For a mid-level option we like Camarena and Altos.
*Taco Tuesday Tip: For a really fun bottle, if you are gifting or really want to splurge- this one is a winner! But I digress…
Lime Juice– Fresh is always a good idea, but we also HUGE fans of this Key West Lime Juice at our local Publix.
DIRECTIONS || Ranch Water Cocktail
Fill glasses with ice.
Pour 1 1/2 to 2 ounces tequila into glasses.
Top with Topo Chico mineral water … or soda water if you don’t have Topo Chico and don’t want to drive across town to track it down 🙂
Add a splash of lime juice.
I hope you enjoy your Cinco de Mayo tonight! To catch up on more Taco Tuesday posts, click here.
Cheers my friends!
