It’s that time of year when it’s not quite still winter … but it’s not quite spring! For us here in Atlanta, that means lots of light layers and of course my white jeans back in rotation. Today I’m back with another “wearable wardrobe” outfit idea to spark inspiration to hep you transition from winter to spring. Because we all know that the weather can’t make up it’s mind here in the south!
My hope with sharing wearable wardrobe outfits is to inspire you to dig in your closet and adore the clothes you already own. Or maybe show a piece or two that you could add to make your closet more wearable for your every day style. I know that dreadful “I have nothing to wear” feeling and my hope is that you will find a few nuggets below to try at home.
I’m sharing an outfit below that I wore the other day that was perfect for a morning blog meeting, running errands and carting the kids around all day. While some of the items are old classics from my closet, I have either linked exact items or found similar items below for your reference. I also thought it would be fun to share a splurge and save option for each item shown. Hope you find this helpful!
WEARABLE WARDROBE OUTFIT IDEA
||CAMEL “COATIGAN”||
I bought this camel “coatigan” last fall and it has become a great staple in my closet. I wore it all fall and winter and am definitely finding it to be a great layer for transitioning to spring as well.
||SPLURGE OPTION|| Camel Collarless Sweater Blazer (as shown in image)
This Coatigan Sweater Blazer option is the exact one I have from J. Crew, and is a great investment piece. While mine is more of a cardigan length, J. Crew also has a similar option in a cute blazer length as well. I have my eye on that gray sweater blazer!
||SAVE OPTION|| Coatigan with Belt
If you are looking for something less expensive, this one from Walmart comes in 3 colors and has great reviews!
||NAVY STRIPED TOP||
I am a sucker for striped tops and definitely have an entire section in my closet dedicated to them! I love to layer them and mix and match with patterns. For this outfit though, it is the fun pattern that breaks up the solid colors and navy is such a fun choice for spring. Chances are, you have something similar in your closet, but if not- I found two great options for you below!
||SPLURGE OPTION|| Navy and White Swing Top
If I could justify buying this, it would be on my way to me as we speak. But remember how I mentioned I already have a section of striped shirts in my closet?!? I just LOVE the cut on this swing top and feel like it is one that would get tons of wear… (ok, so maybe I will still splurge on it- I just convinced myself!)
||SAVE OPTION|| Navy and Ivory Striped Boatneck T-shirt
My top is an old one from Old Navy but I couldn’t find something similar there currently. But this one from J. Crew is very similar and would be a great diverse piece to add to your closet.
||RATTAN MULES||
The shoes are new and I love the great texture they add to this outfit and the rattan is perfect for spring.
||SPLURGE OPTION|| Natural Raffia Mules (as shown in image)
These cute mules just arrived and I popped them in the picture here so truth be told, I haven’t worn them yet. They do look cute though and I feel like they fill a gap in my closet and could work with lots of outfits.
||SAVE OPTION|| Tan Rattan Mules
These rattan mules from Target look very similar to the ones I linked and would also be a great transition option for this time of year!
||WHITE JEANS||
I’m a sucker for white jeans! I may or may not also have a section of my closet dedicated to white jeans too. What can I say- I know what I like!
||SPLURGE OPTION|| J. Crew Toothpick
Mine are a few years old, but the toothpick is always a good option!
||SAVE OPTION|| Sofia White Jeans
These white jeans are a flare option and get tons of great reviews- and are only $30!
||SUNGLASSES||
I mean, I just cannot ever get enough tortoise in my life. And no matter how hard I try to take care of my sunglasses, they always end up scratched and looking pretty rough after awhile. So I was excited to find these fun tortoise sunglasses for under $30. They are a great statement piece and pair perfectly with my go-to tortoise hoops.
||SPLURGE OPTION|| Quay Tortoise Sunglasses
At $55 these are still pretty reasonable and I love the large tortoise frames.
||SAVE OPTION|| Tortoise Sunglasses (as shown in image)
These $30 tortoise sunglasses are seriously giving me new life these days! I was excited to find these fun tortoise sunglasses for under $30. They are a great statement piece and pair perfectly with my go-to tortoise hoops. They are definitely large frames, but I just love the statement they make! Be sure to use the 10% off promo code tnucknew to get them for $28.80 (and free shipping!)
||SANDALS||
Of course, as temps heat up, I will be swapping out the close toed shoes for flip flops and sandals so here is another image with a sandal option as well.
||SPLURGE OPTION|| Tory Burch Miller Flip Flop
I bought these sandals a few summers ago and they have proven to be a great option. I bought the makeup color and they are the perfect nude sandal to dress up any outfit!
||SAVE OPTION|| Ornamental Flip Flop
This nude option from Amazon has tons of great reviews and lots of color options.
Well, I hope you are inspired to dig in your closet to find a similar option you already have to wear this weekend. Or maybe you found a new piece or two linked here to add to help your wardrobe be more wearable. Either way, I wish you a happy *almost* weekend my friends!
xoxo-

I love this outfit and plan to replicate it! Quick question on the tan cardigan you own from J Crew. Reviews say it runs big but with layering underneath, did you find your true size worked or did you have to adjust?
Thanks so much and keep posts like this coming! It helps me remember what I have in my closet.
