Well, well, well what a week it has been. A roller coaster of emotions and along with many others, my kids are home from school indefinitely. The world as we know it feels uncertain. It seems that things are changing by the hour and while I am not ignoring the news, I am not an expert so I plan to just try to carry on as usual around here. I know everywhere we look there are articles and pictures of empty grocery shelves so my hope is that my content will be a nice distraction for you when you want an escape. Blogs were basically built to help people stay connected so technically we have already been connecting while “social distancing” with every post – so we are perfectly set up to continue to connect in this channel.
This week I went from laughing with my friends about the run on toilet paper to true deep down fear of the future. So let’s take a few minutes today and just enjoy some coffee on the porch and virtually give each other a hug. It’s time for our weekly Front Porch Coffee Talk!
TARGET SPRING RUN
Between the mounds of laundry from our spring break ski trip, and making several grocery runs this week to fill the pantry, I did make a fun run to Target and ended up grabbing a few fun things for spring. I had to snap this picture because it pretty much shows everything I am LOVING for spring in one picture!
Striped Rug
Faux Lemon Branches
Straw Bag
Rattan Mules
Tortoise Sunglasses
Speaking of Target… the items I ordered also arrived. Loving this cute white denim dress! The sleeves are super fun and can we just say pockets?!?
This blue dress is also cute and very on trend for spring. Love the length and the ruffle sleeves. This would be so cute for Easter or a Derby party! Really- any spring or summer event!
And this cream blouse was also a winner! Love the peplum bottom and cute ruffle detail.

HOME SCHOOL
I’ve always been curious about homeschooling and have mad respect for those that choose this route, and I plan to take this very serious with the boys over the next couple weeks. We have at least 12 hours to fill every day, and unlike summer- we don’t have camps, play dates, pools and trips to keep us busy. At this point, I plan to turn our dining room into home school headquarters which I hope makes a good makeshift school. I really feel for working mamas as I cannot imagine how stressful all of this is!
MOM LIFE
Spring Break + Daylight Savings= Chocolate
Did anyone else feel like they were on the struggle bus this week? I posted this to Instagram and I had many moms agreeing with my mom math. Hey sorry kid- go eat an apple, Mom was having a crisis and needed your chocolate more than you…
SPRING IN THE HOUSE!
I am slowly working on bringing some spring touches to the house and these new ferns in the planters are giving me extreme joy! Every time I walk to the porch it is mental signal that warmer days are coming. Thankful I grabbed these this week for a little dose of happy! Also, in case you missed it, I shared a breakdown of this outfit this week and it seems to have really resonated with you! In case you missed it, you can read all about it here. Now is a great time to purge the closet and create some fun outfits using what you already have!

I have made a huge lists of things I never get done for myself, Sitting a minute with a face mask on. Painting a chest I have had the paint 4 weeks(needs a good shake, which should burn some calories) , wiping down all my baseboards and iron stair spindles, make at least one Ina Garten recipe a week, invent new soups from pantry items, call friends from high school that I have not reached out to lately, lift the spirits of an older lady at our church, hey..just making phone calls instead of texting sounds like the most human thing to do….because I am tired of the news peoples voices. Taking a walk with my children and dogs, repotting perennials to larger pots and ordering Mosse Mounch mix from Harry & David for all the Netflix !
