Southern State of Mind Blog by Heather

Week 1 | Guest Bathroom Refresh {Primp and Pamper Bathroom Challenge}

in Decor, Easy DIY, Home Tour on 03/06/18

Hi friends! I am so excited because today kicks off a new bathroom “Primp and Pamper” challenge and I am thrilled to be a part of it! I know I recently shared that I am working on both the dining room and Sweet B’s room, and those rooms are still in the works. However, I have shifted gears a bit and will be laser focused on our guest bathroom for the next four weeks. A huge thanks to Jewel from Jeweled Interiors for putting this challenge together, sourcing the sponsors AND giving me a huge motivation to tackle and focus on this space in our home. (I may or may not have a tendency to get distracted, wink wink…)

One of the main reasons we moved last summer was to have a true guest bedroom and bathroom. This was a priority in our house hunt and we love how the guest room in the new house is on the main floor and private. I haven’t shared this room yet here on the blog, mainly because I haven’t done a thing to it…but that stops today. Yay!

I have some plans in the works with the guest bedroom as well, but for the next 4 weeks I will be focusing on giving the guest bathroom a face lift. It is actually a lovely space and the finishes are wonderful so I think that just a little TLC is all this room needs to make it feel like ours.

Here it is currently- as you can see I have done absolutely nothing in here since we moved in. While the green isn’t my style, the cabinets and tile floor are perfect and it is pretty much a blank slate.

Here is another angle where you can see the current window treatment.

My plan to “primp and pamper” this bathroom up is to brighten up the the walls and add some fun accessories. I’d love to see this bathroom as “spa-like” as possible for our guests…and hey, maybe I will even hide in here when I need a break from life! 🙂 Also, since I don’t have anywhere else to decorate on the more girly side (because #boymom), I am definitely going to be adding some pink.

So here is the plan:

Alright, let’s go ahead and make the to-do list below so we can see progress each week. That’s the best part of these challenges- crossing off the to-do list! I will be checking in on Tuesday’s for the next couple of weeks and the final reveal is March 27th.

Guest Bathroom Primp & Pamper To-Do List

  1. Fresh Paint on Walls & Ceiling
  2. Statement Wall (stencil)
  3. Art
  4. Accessories
  5. Rug
  6. Towels
  7. Window Treatment
  8. Vanity Chair
  9. Updated light fixture
  10. Updated cabinet hardware

Thanks for following along and wish me luck! Now be sure to check out what all of the other talented ladies are doing in their bathrooms below.

The good news is that your starting with some great elements – like those counters are fantastic! The bad news is that we have to wait for four weeks to see how it turns out! Love your choices!

We had way too much jewelry and clutches to discuss to remember green bathroom walls! But oh yes, they were there when you were here! BUT ADIOS!

I love your inspo, and am drooling over all the little chinoiserie details, and all the gold. Can’t wait.
