It has been sooo fun earning my “aunt” badge lately with lots of new babies among my besties. I love getting my baby fix when I go hold their littles and it *almost* makes me want another.
But then I quickly snap back to reality. 🙂
I wanted to bring a friend a few things that I could not live without the first few weeks as a new mama so I made her a new mom gift basket.
This is a cute idea to give to anyone that just arrived home from the hospital. And is wondering what the heck they did to themselves.
Because let’s face it- those first few weeks are H.A.R.D.
NEW MOM GIFT BASKET:
The basket is lined with a lightweight swaddle blanket and is something that would work in the nursery, the pantry or next to the chair where they nurse to corral their necessities. (also known as where they will pretty much be living for the foreseeable future)
The other must have products I included in the new mom gift basket are:
healthy mama® drink and tea – To start with, I included some healthy mama® products. I reallllly wish I would have known about these when I was pregnant or nursing. For this basket, I included a Boost it Up drink and Make the Milk Tea.
Yes and Yes.
Journal- Sure. Every new mom has visions of writing every milestone down in a beautiful baby book. The reality is- I have yet to meet one of these moms. But it is super easy to jot down little milestones in a journal. I keep one next to both boys beds and jot things down when I think about it. I wish I remembered to do it more, but hey, something is better than nothing.
Cute Drinking Cup- For water. Or Wine. I won’t judge.
Golden Oreo’s- Nursing moms are REQUIRED to eat more calories every day. (wink, wink) I literally would not have made it through my maternity leave without a couple (or half a bag, just saying) of these a day.
Mom’s on Call Book. This was my LIFESAVER as a new mom.
Mederma– Helped with my lovely c-section scar and stretch marks.
Medela Cream– Because #OUCH
Lovie for baby– Who can resist an adorable bla-bla- I couldn’t forget the little guy even though this basket is for his mama. 🙂
And then just a plethora of snack bars and nuts- great to keep on hand next to aforementioned ^^^ nursing chair that they will find themselves in. ALOT.
So with that, I am off to take this basket of goodies to my bestie in exchange for snuggles with her baby. Hand him over!
And when I am done, I will hand him back. Because that my friends, is the benefit of being the Aunt!
Be sure to check back tomorrow, I will share my go-to recipe to make for any new mama. Happy Monday! Hope you have a great week!
xoxo-
Heather
Those are great ideas, Heather. I wish we'd had the Healthy Mama line when my kids were babies, too!
Great ideas! So many things have changed since I had my kiddos. I love seeing what new mommas love, so when the time comes for me to have to purchase a gift I am not at a total loss.
