My Trip to Whitefish Montana and The HGTV Dream Home 2019 {Part 1}

in Home Tour, travel on 01/22/19

I recently had the pleasure of joining Belgard on a trip out to Whitefish, Montana to visit The HGTV® Dream Home 2019. I was thrilled to have the opportunity to explore a new town and get a behind the scenes look at this beautiful mountain home.  Of course, I took tons of pictures while at the home, so I will be breaking up the tour to two different parts. Today, we will take a look at the exterior and main living areas of The HGTV Dream Home 2019.  Then Part 2 will showcase the bedrooms and upstairs lounge space.

The HGTV Dream Home 2019- EXTERIOR

As soon as we arrived at the The HGTV Dream Home 2019 house, we all immediately went out back to check out the beautiful outdoor living space and see the stunning views. The Belgard team presented us with the background on their outdoor loving space design including the pavers, the fireplace and the built in grill.

I think they nailed it!

I absolutely loved this sprawling outdoor space. The outdoor fireplace of was perfectly positioned on the far right side of the porch so that it wouldn’t obstruct the views.  The patio (and front porch) feature pavers that mimic natural stone and wood texture, which really helped blend the spaces with the outdoors.

During our visit, it was snowing on and off which just added to the beauty. Why yes, I’ll have some hot chocolate by this fire!

When you step up from the fireplace seating area, you enter the covered porch that is attached to the kitchen. The ceilings and light fixtures fit seamlessly with the outdoors. The design team really did a great job blurring the lines between inside and out using all of the colors you naturally see in the outdoors. These views truly were stunning!

While we didn’t enjoy this feature in December, summer months will enjoy that these windows from the kitchen open up to the outdoor room for flow.

Here you can see the entire back porch area including the outdoor seating area, the covered porch and hot tub.

Of course, I couldn’t get enough of these rocking chairs lined up along the porch.  The house is located on the edge of Glacier National Park, and while it’s hard to see in these photos, down in the ravine are views of the Rocky Mountains and Whitefish Lake.

The HGTV Dream Home 2019- MAIN LIVING AREAS

After taking in all of the views outside, I did finally get cold and went inside to check out the main living areas. I love the two story loft in the main living space.  The home was designed by Brian Patrick Flynn, and I love all of the details and thought that went into making this space the perfect mix of mountain and modern. He did such a great job and I love the choice of burnt orange that he carried throughout the decor.

And can we just talk about that moose?

He was the perfect statement piece for this room against the black sheet metal fireplace. Here you can see how the entire back wall of the house has windows and the beams helped give it that mountain lodge feel. Those window are accordion style and open up to the expansive outdoor living area.

We couldn’t decide who wore Fair Isle best, but my vote is with the moose! 🙂

The HGTV Dream Home 2019- Kitchen & Dining

The dining room separated the main living room highlighted above and the kitchen. While it all flowed together, the ceiling in here definitely helped define this dining space.

The Belgard Team had some great treats on hand and a few baristas brewing up all kinds of goodies.

How would you like to make breakfast with those views every morning?

So, what do you think? Are you booking your ticket to Whitefish as we speak? Have you entered for a chance to win The HGTV Dream Home Giveaway 2019 yet? This is the largest giveaway in HGTV history- with the total value at $2.3 million. The sweepstakes is open until February 18th, 2019.

What a beautiful house and location. Although not to fond of the snow! You captured little drops of snow on the outdoor pillows which made it look even more beautiful! I’m so happy you had this opportunity!
