Home Sweet Home || 2021 Spring Home Tour

in Home Tour, Seasonal Home Tours, Spring on 03/08/21

Hello hello! Happy (almost) SPRING! We have made it through another season and come full circle in these crazy times. It’s still hard to believe that this time last year we were all spinning and taking everything day by day. Today I am joining other bloggers sharing lots of spring inspiration. I hope you can find a few moments to enjoy today’s spring home tour.  This is always a fun group to join because A) it forces me to clean my house B) it forces me to add a few spring touches and C) I find TONS of new inspiration for my own home.  I’m honored to have teamed up with Marty from A Stroll Thru Life  along with 29 other talented bloggers to share our spring homes with you this week. If you are coming over from Alicia at Thrifty & Chic– Welcome! This is my SEVENTH tour with this fun group and I’ve consistently had a theme of me “greeting” you in the door- so I couldn’t let this one pass without continuing this tradition. To catch up on all past tours click here.

If you are new here at Southern State of Mind- WELCOME! I’m Heather, the crazy-crafting-iced-coffee-drinking-mom behind the blog. My husband and I live in Atlanta with our two boys – ages 6 and 9. I have been blogging for around six years, ever since I was fortunate to stay home with my youngest.

This blog brings me so much joy and I am so glad you are joining me today to have a look around! One way to catch up with me is to read
my Front Porch Coffee Talks where I share what’s on my mind on Friday mornings just like friends chatting over coffee.

So with that, let’s take as spring stroll through our home sweet home!

FRONT PORCH : Home Sweet Home – Our Spring Home Tour

As I mentioned, I post a Front Porch Coffee Talk series every week so our front porch has become somewhat of a sidekick here on the blog. I always change things up on the porch and this year I ran with blue and white. Actually- you will find that most of the spring tour is focused on blue and white this year! Last spring, I found a fun new striped outdoor rug and it looks like it is still in stock! It makes a statement all on it’s own and I still love it here. The only new thing I added this year was a fun bamboo wicker tray table I scored from my thrift store for $20. It was originally from Ballard and the price tag shows a price of  $399 so I consider this a big score.  The pillows were pulled out from my stash as were the small planters on the wicker tray.

FOYER: Home Sweet Home – Our Spring Home Tour

Well, now that we have seen the porch- come on in! The foyer is another little nook I can’t seem to keep my hands off as the seasons change. This time I decided to “skirt” the little table in here using some fabric I’ve had on hand forever, change out the mirror and add a new lamp. I am loving the look of the antelope print skirted table and will likely add some trim to finish it off. This foyer has always been a bit challenging because there are lots of doors and small walls, maybe someday I will land on something that sticks. But for now I enjoy tweaking it with new finds and ideas.

KITCHEN: Home Sweet Home – Our Spring Home Tour

The next stop on our tour is the heart of our home- the kitchen.  This is another space I can’t seem to keep my hands off and this year I was craving lots of greenery… and of course blue and white!  One big change I recently did was add a lamp on the kitchen counter. I did it on a whim using a lamp I had around the house and just love it! Another new addition is a pair of topiaries in white planters that I found at Homegoods. Yes, that was me doing a happy dance in the aisle!

But my favorite new addition to the kitchen is this new vintage runner from Revival Rugs. I had the HARDEST time choosing from their large selection and finally landed on this one. When it arrived it was love at first sight! If you are in the market, I highly recommend this brand and be sure to use the promo code SOUTHERNHEATHER10 for 10% off! You can shop their vintage collection HERE and then you can narrow down choices by size and colors. Warning- it is addicting and now I want a new rug for every nook and cranny. 🙂

The kitchen island is one of my very favorite places to update. You can see lots of my past inspiration here. Keeping with the greenery and blue and white theme was easy in this spot!

LIVING ROOM : Home Sweet Home – Our Spring Home Tour

So let’s meander into the living room. This space just got a few little spring touches. Here you can see how this space connects to the kitchen. It’s really all one big space so it’s nice to keep it feeling connected. Of course, the unifying thing in these spaces is blue and white!

Well, that does it for today. I enjoyed showing you around and sharing these spring touches with you. I am also thankful to have had a clean house, at least for a couple hours! The boys have virtual school this week so I can assure you that none of these spaces look like this right now. However, I hope you are inspired to do some spring sprucing of your own. And when in doubt- just add some blue and white. 🙂

Now please be sure to check out Jenn over at Clean & Scentsible. Wow she has tons of spring inspiration and I am looking forward to “visiting” her home today.

your porch looks like the perfect place for sweet tea sipping. Actually, I don’t like sweet tea, but I’ll take a margarita. 😉 Gorgeous as always!

I always love seeing you on the porch, such a great place to relax and visit. Your home always looks so inviting and friendly. I adore your kitchen, those big windows over the sink are fabulous, I drool over them and of course your oven and hood are dreamy too. I love the addition of your pretty blue and white for spring. Your living space so open to the kitchen and dining area is stunning. Love those built-ins and lovely vignettes. Thanks so much for joining the tour again this season, your home is always a delight and a favorite.
