Good morning, good morning. Rise and shine sunshines!
I hope you had a wonderful weekend. We are still breathing in salt air and have been enjoying our time at the beach and visiting with family. One of the highlights of the weekend was a kayak excursion with my Dad and Sweet P- it was a fun adventure and I came home with a boatload of oyster shells and driftwood. (insert heart eye smiley emoticon)
If you’ve been around here long, you know by now that I love adding coastal touches to my home decor. So today I decided to round up my top ten coastal inspired projects to catch up on in case you are new around here. Or maybe you have just been at the beach yourself. #hereshoping
1. Nautical Guest Bathroom
…a not-too-nautical guest bathroom…that weathered orange oar still gets me every time I walk in here…
2. Nantucket Glam Guest Room
…Although Sweet P and Sweet B think life began when they arrived in the world, shockingly it existed before them. 🙂 This is proof- it was our original guest room which is now Sweet P’s room.
I know we are about 9 states away from Cape Cod, but just imagine a seaside town out that window filled with gable-roofed, gray-shingled houses. Quaint beaches with historic lighthouses. A coastal shoreline with rustic docks and dunes for miles. OK, you seeing the vision? Can you imagine this as a room at a bed and breakfast in Nantucket?
3. Low Country Wreath
…I like to call this my “souvenir” wreath because the oysters and Spanish Moss were collected on our beach trips…
4. Driftwood Mantle
…Yes, I am guilty. Not only do I collect oysters and moss…
I also hoard driftwood…
5. Summer Back Porch
…our back porch was a hot mess…but nothing a little elbow grease (and navy blue) couldn’t fix…
7. Nautical Flag Pallet
…because we just cannot ever get enough pallet projects…
am I right?…
8. Low Country Table Setting
…while in Hilton Head I grabbed a couple extra napkins every time we ate at the clubhouse, they were too cute to pass by. Pretty sure The Big Sweet thought I was nuts but he has stopped asking questions…
9. Knock-Off Ceramic Giant Clam
…I have been coveting this clam shell from Ballard Designs for years but could never pull the trigger on purchasing it…so I did what anyone sane would do…
made my own…
10. Octopus Triptych
…last week I shared that this Octo Art is now available on my new Etsy store. It’s a great way to make a big coastal impact in your home, and won’t break the bank. You know, so you can make another beach trip A.S.A.P. …
What do you think? Am I ready to decorate a real beach house?!? That is certainly a dream of ours.
But until then, I will just keep decorating my beach house in the city.
Have a great week sunshines!
xoxo-
