See how to make a simple burlap Halloween Wreath DIY using supplies from the Dollar Tree
I basically squealed with delight when I walked into the Dollar Tree a few weeks back and realized the Halloween shipment had arrived. I know, I know- I really need to get out more. But Halloween decor is just so fun and it’s even better when it’s a buck y’all!
So of course I immediately started perusing the goods to see what I could create this year. (Yes, you can go ahead and picture me strumming my fingers and silently saying mwa-ha-ha-ha to myself as I shopped.)
When I saw the spiders they were calling my name and I knew I could make something cute out of them. Dare I even say they were “cute??” Of course I knew I would want some burlap ribbon so I tossed two spools into my cart. Then I found the wire wreath form and a wreath idea was formed. A simple spider wreath for the front porch!
Halloween Wreath DIY
SUPPLIES NEEDED
- Wire Wreath Form
- Two spools of Burlap Ribbon
- A Pair of Black Spiders (they came in a two pack)
- Black Pipe Cleaners
- Safety Pin
- Ribbon to attach wreath to door
Halloween Wreath DIY
STEP 1:
Begin by wrapping the wire wreath form with the burlap ribbon. It took me two spools to completely cover the wire. Once complete, use a safety pin on the back to pin the end.
STEP 2:
Once you’ve wrapped the burlap, you can add the spiders. Grab your spiders and your black pipe cleaners. Simply wrap the pipe cleaners around the spider and poke the ends through the burlap ribbon. Then just twist the pipe cleaner together in the back of the wreath. I like the simplicity of the two spiders, but this would be equally cute with spiders going all the way around it.
STEP 3:
Add the ribbon to hang on the door.
The best part about this simple burlap wreath is that I can easily remove the spiders and turn this into a Thanksgiving wreath, or really any holiday!
Check back in a few weeks when I reveal the front porch. Yes, you can imagine me again strumming my fingers and saying mwa-ha-ha-ha as I dream up the Halloween spell I am going to give our front porch. I would have decorated it yesterday but I am fairly certain my new neighbors would declare me absolutely NUTS if my porch was in full Halloween get-up in mid September. But October 1st it is fair game!
