Our neighborhood goes all out for Halloween. So the entire first week of October, the boys were seeing our neighbor’s houses get their Halloween decorations. Every single day, they were begging me and asking when we were going to decorate our house for Halloween. And every single day I told them it was too hot. Mama was in no mood to decorate for Halloween when it was 97 degrees.
But now that the temperatures have dropped a bit, the tubs came out and I went to town!
I think they ended up being just fine with the wait, because now every time we pull into the driveway my five year old says- Oh Mom, I like it so much. 🙂

One of the new additions to the decor this year are these fun Terra Cotta Jack O’ Lanterns. I have had several over the years but between moves and little kids that like to play (aka break) with them, I was down to one. But thanks to a fruitful trip to the Goodwill this summer, it has grown into an official “collection”.
When I shared these pictures on Instagram, I had SO many people message me to ask where I got them so I went on the hunt for you! I found two different sources. The first Jack O’ Lantern Option is $20 and has free shipping! The second option has lots of different sizes and seems to have great reviews.
Sadly, I can’t find one similar to that tall guy I have but I think he is my fave!
I pulled out the big wooden lanterns that appears from time to time on the porch and filled it with whatever leftover Halloween stuff I had in the tubs. I say when it comes to Halloween anything goes! And spider webs just make it feel more haunted.
Another fun addition this year is the large spider web that I grabbed on Amazon. I bought this one, because it was the cheapest, and it definitely works fine. But I would say I am not impressed with the quality. It feels like pipe cleaner when I expected more of nylon rope. So do as I say not as I do and get a more sturdy one if you get one!
The rocking chairs both got a little something. I grabbed this guy on clearance last year and he is a great size to be able to easily store in the tubs but still so fun sitting out on the rockers.
This silly witch smashed into our porch! Another Goodwill find…but looks like Target has a cute one!
OF COURSE the witch hats made their appearance again this year. They really are the cutest and easiest decor!
I also had some fun with the spider webbing. This is just one bag (it actually came with the larger spider webbing I showed above) and it went a long way!
Happy Halloween!

“Oh Heather, I like it so much!” This reminds me of when my two boys were “littles”. I am glad to see that you enjoy it, and the extra work while you can, for soon, they are 23 and 26 and you will only be decorating for fall. Happy Halloween!

Aw! Yes, it really does go by fast and I know someday there won’t be the excitement of trick or treating. I really do enjoy it, and I love experiencing the holidays through their eyes!

I’m glad the boys had fun helping you with the front porch, I know Brooks wanted spiders!
