DIY Pom-Pom Gift Wrap

in Christmas, create, Easy DIY, Holiday Crafts, holidays on 10/25/17

Today I am sharing how I made DIY Pom Pom Gift Wrap using supplies from the Dollar Tree

The thing about blogging is that you are always thinking one or two holidays ahead. So while I realize that we have yet to make our Halloween memories this year, I did get a head start on a holiday project that I am completely smitten with and can’t wait to share with you today.

I mean, it really would be impossible to do a craft with pom poms and not be smitten, right?

With two young boys in the house, I try to keep a stash of gift wrap and gift bags around for the endless birthday parties so I am not scrambling at the last minute to wrap the gifts.  One thing lately that I have been doing is just stocking up on brown kraft paper bags and rolls and then using ribbons and bows to spruce it up. I love that you can use this simple paper for any birthday or holiday.

But this is the first time I have added pom-poms and I think it turned out super cute. I love this idea for the holidays and think it is such a fun way to make simple wrapping paper look more festive and more cheerful.

To make this DIY Pom Pom Gift Wrap, you will just need a few supplies. Of course, these can all be found at the Dollar Tree!

  1. Brown Gift Wrap
  2. Pom Poms
  3. Glue Gun & Glue Sticks
  4. Optional- Ribbon and Paper to Make Holly Berries

I actually picked up several different bags of pom poms from the Dollar Tree that had all different color variations. After dumping them all out and playing with several different color combinations, I landed on three different styles for my wrapped gifts. Once I had my colors decided, I placed the pom poms on the gift wrap for spacing. Then once I like the pattern, I got the glue gun out and glued them in place.

One is a fun twist on the classic Christmas colors with a pop of pink.

Then I did one with blues and blacks, you may remember last year we had a Blue Christmas so this would be perfect for that theme!

Then I had fun creating a holly berry pattern on the smaller gift. To do this, I used three different color pink and red pom poms, some gingham ribbon, and I cut out some holly berry leaves on green paper.

You could also do a fun reindeer sketch and a red pom pom nose on a gift box.

Obviously, the color combination options are endless and you could coordinate with your Christmas Tree decor, or customize based on who you are giving the gift to. Or, even your outfit. LOL.

If you are in the mood for a fun holiday craft- this really checks a lot of boxes!

Glue gun. Check.

Fun Colors. Check.

Productive. Check.

Adorable. Check!

I honestly don’t know what was more enjoyable, creating this adorable DIY Pom Pom Gift Wrap, or taking pictures of it. 🙂

xoxo-

Heather
