{Set the Table} Traditional Fall Table with a Twist

in Lifestyle on 09/24/14

Happy Hump Day!

The weather is crisp this week in Atlanta and it finally put me in the mood to get my fall on! I kept my fall-i-fy-ing pretty simple this year and I will be back on Friday to share the full tour.

Until then, I wanted to share my fall table with you. I had fun mixing traditional with the unexpected, casual with formal, with colors that are a perfect transition from summer to fall.

If you have a hard time with decorating commitments, setting your table is a fun place to play. It doesn’t require a long-term commitment since you can mix it up for every occasion! I like to mix and match depending on my mood and the seasons.

I like the mix of the traditional blue and white dishes with the leopard table runner. The rustic wooden planter and casual chargers with the formal wine glasses.
Adding to more of the mix and match look, I pulled down an old bench I had in the attic to replace chairs. Not sure if it will stay, but I do like how inviting it looks.

Here is a peak of the Knock-Off Pottery Barn Tuscan Urn I shared yesterday in the room. Antlers and wine corks add some fun layers to the mix.

The pumpkins are Dollar Tree orange foam pumpkins I had on hand that got a quick upgrade with a coat of white and gold paint.

The gold wine glasses were inherited from my husbands grandmother.  They help add a formal touch.

The hydrangeas are clippings from the yard.
I love the soft muted green they add to the table.

Have you been busy fall-i-fying your home?
Do tell!

Happy Fall Y’all!
-Heather

I love the leopard and blues! My idea of fall decorating this year may just be a few pumpkins. I have a little one's first birthday to celebrate the week before Halloween and I haven't decided what to do yet. I did clean off my dining room table and put out some candy corn. Does that count?!

Um, Candy Corn is #1 in my book! Pumpkins- check. Candy corn- check. Sounds like you are ready!!! Happy birthday to the little one!

So glad you agree that animal print is a "neutral"! 🙂 Now if I could just convince the hubs…
