A Very Merry Christmas Home Tour

in Christmas, holidays on 12/03/14

Woo to the hoo. It’s officially Christmas season!
Tis the season and the halls are decked. I am excited to share our Christmas home with you. Fa, la, la, la, la…

You know that saying “less is more”? Weeelllll…. how about “more is more”?!?! More plaid that is! This year it’s all about nutcrackers, plaid… and more plaid! Because you know I’m all about the plaid, ’bout the plaid…

The inspiration came from a plaid ribbon and I just ran with the traditional red, green and blue.

The slipper chairs got plaid scarves draped over them and I used an old plaid Lands End throw for the Christmas tree skirt.
More plaid please!

When in doubt, I added more plaid! Here I added some wrapping paper to the (non-functional) fireplace insert. Too much? Nah! 🙂

I ordered family monogrammed Christmas stockings from Pottery Barn. I had been holding off on family stockings until the family was “complete”.  With baby boy’s arrival this summer, it was finally time and
I LOVE them!
My mother-in-law started a Nutcracker collection for my husband years ago. When we got married the tradition continued, and when we bought our house she gave them all to me. Each year, she adds more!
We have quite the collection at this point and it’s fun to pull them out and pile them onto the mantel.
When I ran out of plaid, I added polka dots! 🙂
Remember, MORE IS MORE people!

I had this black and white buffalo check ribbon from last year so it is the tree topper. Mixing plaids? Why not!

Tomorrow I will be back to show you the big boy room. Yep.
I decorated Mr. Big Stuff’s room for Christmas.
Somebody come stop me!!!!! 🙂

There are over 30 home tours included as part of this series this week, so be sure to check them all out! The tour landing page can be found over at Lovely, Etc. and you can find all the links for the tours today below. I already can’t wait to decorate next year with all of this AWESOME inspiration!

It is so much fun peeking into everyone's home to spy on their Christmas decor! I am all about the "more is more" philosophy too! Love all the color you have added to your home.

I love everything but the nutcrackers are my favorite! My husband has a nutcracker collection started by his grandmother as well. She passed away right before we got married so I've carried on the tradition of giving him one new nutcracker each Christmas. It is always fun looking for a new, unique one to add to the collection! I love how you have displayed yours throughout your home.
