I don’t do much as far as decorating for Valentine’s Day but since my Valentine’s Day present came in a little early, I was inspired to add a few touches of pink to our ottoman tray. Since we are traveling this year for Valentine’s Day, I told the hubby that instead of flowers I would like this Whiskey in a Teacup book. I have had my eye on it for a couple years and am so happy to finally have my very own copy of it! (What can I say, I am easy to please.)
I can’t wait to dive in and enjoy each page as I can already tell it is oozing with inspiration. And while flowers are temporary, I love that it will last for years to come. (It’s currently marked down to $13.87 from $35 on Amazon!) As far as the tray, I also just stacked a few pink items and heart details from around the house.
I grabbed the heart shaped rock from our heart rock collection (that we started back in 2015) to place on my copy of Garden and Gun. And the pinky red heart was a handmade preschool treasure from one of the boys. (Man I really miss the preschool days.)
Camellias from the yard in February are always a bright spot in winter and this pop of pink is perfect for Valentine’s Day. I am forever grateful that both of the homes we have owned have mature camellia bushes- they are the gift that keep on giving!
Last but not least, the bowl filled with our Christmas cards. The pandemic has us all doing strange things and you can add this one to the list for me. Usually I stack these up right after Christmas and stow them away. (here is how I store them) But this year I just can’t bring myself to store them yet.
I guess I just miss everyone.
Have you treated yourself to a Valentine present and gotten your significant other off the hook? 🙂
