If you are like me, you have probably purchased several packages of ornaments on major sale after Christmas. So this year when I was struggling to find inspiration on how to decorate the dining room for Christmas I turned to what was leftover in the tubs…
Lots and lots of metallic ornaments!
Turns out I had oodles of metallic ornaments just waiting to be used. So I decided to put them to work! And if you do as well, I am sharing a super simple “out of the tree” way to use them during the holidays.
But let me back up a little on this space… this spring I gave the dining room a post-quarantine “Glow Up”. Which basically means I dealt with all of the clutter that had piled up over the crazy year and also completed all of the half finished projects in the space. You can read all about that update HERE> A POST QUARANTINE DINING ROOM GLOW UP
I am SO happy I took the time this year to get this room “over the finish line” on feeling complete- so it was fun to just come in for Christmas and make it shine! One fun and easy update I made in here for Christmas was that bowl of ornaments as the table centerpiece. So simple yet I just LOVE it so much!
I love our round dining table, but honestly I have struggled with what to use as the center. I feel like a rectangle table is just easier to work with. But I did finall land on using around bowl year round. That white bowl is what permanently lives on this table, but I replaced the moss balls with a mound of metallic ornaments for the holidays! To make this I just stuffed it with paper towels and then piled the ornaments. I tried to space out the different metallic colors and just piled them all around.
I really do love how it looks and may be keeping these in here well into January!
The faux garland was also in my tub and I decided to drape it over the mirror. Realizing I still had bunches of metallic ornaments, I decided to GO FOR IT and bauble it up! It was kind of soothing and addicting to add the ornaments.
Lastly, the flocked tree with metallic ornaments is the perfect complement to the wallpaper ceiling and my DIY art.
Fa la la la laaaaaa
Merry Merry!
xoxo-
