Deck the Halls || Our 2021 Christmas Home Tour

in Christmas, Home Tour, Seasonal Home Tours on 12/06/21

Welcome welcome! Come on in for this year’s Christmas Home Tour. The halls are decked, the tree is up and there is copious amounts of hot chocolate flowing around here. Now I just need to Santa to work his magic and deliver a house full of wrapped presents.  Does everyone else feel a bit behind this year?

We are far from the Polar Express around here and it’s more like the Hot Mess Express – I am so far behind on all the Christmas things! But today I do have our Christmas Home Tour ready and I can’t wait to share the decked halls with you. And I am joining an AMAZING group of bloggers who are also sharing their homes all linked down below. If you are coming over from my friend Rachael at This is Our Bliss– Welcome!  I am so glad you are here.

If you are new here, I’m Heather, the zhushing-crafting-iced-coffee-drinking-mom behind the blog. My husband and I live in Atlanta with our two boys – ages 7 and 10. This is our fifth Christmas in this home, which is hard to believe, and while at this point I like to do some of the same tried and true decorations for Christmas, I still enjoy some tweaking here and there. This year, we added a new member to our family- Miss Millie! She is providing lots of love and entertainment and her favorite thing is to curl up in a lap. She’s a keeper!

This blog brings me so much joy and I am so glad you are joining me today to have a look around! One way to get caught up with me lately is to read my Front Porch Coffee Talks where I share what’s on my mind like old friends chatting over coffee.

Alright! Well with no further ado- let’s take a walk in our winter wonderland!

|FRONT FOYER| Deck the Halls 2021 Christmas Home Tour

Our home is unique in that it has two foyer spaces so this year I decided “deck the halls” in the secondary one. I had a vision in my head to use this wreath with the fun orange citrus details (thrift store find!) and then decided to add a few topiaries on the desk. Um, I didn’t realized I had so many topiaries until I started gathering them! I have never placed them all together and what a cute little collection if I do say so myself.

All I needed to complete this festive look was some red grosgrain ribbon. Fa la la la laaaaaaa!

|LIVING ROOM| Deck the Halls 2021 Christmas Home Tour

Moving along into the heart of our home is our living room.  What can I say, it’s all about the Nutcrackers in here! I also swapped out some plaid pillow covers which are an easy addition because they can be folded and stored away easily. I just love spending time in this room in December.

| WRAPPING PAPER NOOK  | Deck the Halls 2021 Christmas Home Tour

This year I have a fun new festive nook to share with you- it is my very own Santa’s Workshop! This little slice of the North Pole was almost a year in the making- from purging, to organizing, to installing the peel ‘n stick wallpaper, to adding all of the little details. But I honestly use this little nook almost daily. Whether it’s to grab a gift tag, ribbon or just some craft supplies- I am so in love with this tiny little spot. Just goes to show you that you don’t need a big crafting room if you don’t have the space.

I shared the full recap a few weeks ago on how I transformed this space from a hoarders dream to this super functional (and pretty) spot! You can read the post here: SMALL AND MERRY || WRAPPING PAPER NOOK

HOLIDAY CLOSET  |  Deck the Halls 2021 Christmas Home Tour

What’s the holidays without sequins, gold, plaid and velvet? This year I am making sure I don’t miss any opportunity to don my yuletide apparel and got my Christmas Closet prepped and ready! I have never thought to do this before but it is already proving to be quite helpful. You better believe I love having this little spot in my closet ready- you can read more about this 20 Minute Organizing Idea HERE.

| HOLIDAY BAR  |  Deck the Halls 2021 Christmas Home Tour

This little bar is a barrel hallway between our kitchen and dining room and it got a festive makeover full of fun colors! With a family of boys, I don’t get away with using pinks very often, but I feel like anything goes in a holiday bar!

And it turns out copper mugs make the perfect tree stands. 🙂

On the other side of the bar I hang a garland to hang all of our precious greeting cards. I just love being able to display all of our sweet friends and family!

| DINING ROOM|  Deck the Halls 2021 Christmas Home Tour

Ok, now let’s peak into the dining room. You can see from the photo above how it connects from the bar. I honestly didn’t have a plan for this space this Christmas and was struggling with where to start. So I just decided to take an inventory of what was sitting leftover in all of my holiday tubs and vowed not to spend any money. Turns out I had oodles of metallic ornaments just waiting to be used.

So that is what I did!

That white bowl is what permanently lives on this table, but I replaced the moss balls with a mound of metallic ornaments. A few years ago I got a Christmas tree from the Goodwill for a couple bucks and completely dismantled it which provided TONS of inexpensive faux greenery so that is what I used for the table. I also added some fresh Christmas tree clippings and magnolia leaves to fill it out.

The faux garland was also in my tub and I decided to drape it over the mirror. Realizing I still had bunches of metallic ornaments, I decided to GO FOR IT and bauble it up! It was kind of soothing and addicting to add the ornaments.

Lastly, the flocked tree with metallic ornaments is the perfect complement to the wallpaper ceiling and my DIY art.

Fa la la la laaaaaa

Well, that does it for today. I really enjoyed showing you around and sharing our holiday home with you and I hope you found a few ideas to “Deck the Halls” in your own home!
