Before the craziness of May we snuck away for a weekend getaway to the Gaylord Opryland in Nashville, Tennessee. This resort had been on our family bucket list so when they reached out and invited us to attend their “Once Upon A Spring” event, we jumped at the chance! By now you know we love a good family road trip, and Nashville is the perfect destination from Atlanta. We packed tons into our 48 hours and I am so thankful for this quality time with our crew.
WHERE WE STAYED
For this getaway, the resort was basically the weekend destination! There is SO MUCH TO DO at Gaylord Opryland Nashville and it is a really great family spot. Here you can see the banner that says “Everything In One Place” which is the beauty of it! You can scoot off to do an activity and then very easily pop back in your room at any time. It is SUCH a great feeling to pull up to a hotel and park your car for the weekend knowing you will be fully entertained without having to leave!
Gaylord Opryland is massive! Gaylord The resort has 2,888 nd nine acres of indoor gardens- this part was a bit of a surprise for me. The indoor plants were awesome and it really gives it such a unique feeling.
WHAT WE DID
There was plenty to keep us busy around this beautiful destination!
- Soundwaves Water Park
- Cooke Decorating
- Family Painting
- Indoor Boat Ride
- Arcade
- Wander and Explore
SoundWaves
This was definitely the highlight of our weekend! And the beautiful thing was that we could come and go so it was nice to enjoy in more bite size outings with breaks to our room and to do other activities. SoundWaves is a water park with four acres of indoor and outdoor play structures, lazy and rapid rivers, waterslides. The boys had seen the FlowRider on videos and couldn’t wait to try it out. I even gave it a whirl!
Sunshine and Sprinkles Cookie Decorating
Just saw the word cookies and my boys come running. We decorated cookies together and then of course, ate them. Just another fun hands-on experience that we enjoyed as a family.
Paint Me a Fairytale Painting Experience
We did a family arts and crafts session at the Paint Me a Fairytale Painting Experience. I don’t think we have ever painted as a family- and it was so fun! They even had Mother Goose herself helping us out!
Arcade
The arcade was another spot we couldn’t keep the boys out of! We all even tried the Virtual Reality game… mind. blown.
Bloomin’ Boat Ride
We were on fumes by the end of the night, but this was the perfect way to wind it all down. This indoor boat ride winds down a scenic river through the Gaylord Opryland Resort’s beautiful 4.5-acre Delta Atrium.
I am so thankful for these family getaways and all of the sweet memories made!
