Happy Saturday! I am a couple days late on this week’s update, but it’s May so we are doing the best we can and working on this room real-time and so we are just going to roll with it mmmmm-kay? Today I am sharing an update that makes me so so so so incredibly happy! It has taken five years but we finally have a new light fixture hung and curtains in the guest room! This week my Dad and I planned a “Daddy-Daughter Work Day” and we were able to knock out these two “to-dos” in here and the room finally feels like it’s starting to come together!

The Before

And here we are with a new light fixture and new curtains! Oh, and of course the zebras that I shared a few updates ago.

I honestly adored the green light that was in here when we moved in and even considered keeping it and painting it white. Ultimately, I decided it was time to replace it and found this pretty little gold beaded thing! I think it is absolutely perfect in here. It makes a statement but also blends in perfectly. And it gives off plenty of light and even came with the lightbulbs which was a happy surprise.

For the curtains, I actually thrifted these Ballard Designs Greek Key curtains a long time ago knowing they would be perfect in this room. The window is 4 feet wide and I wanted the curtains to be super wide on either side of the window so I bought an 8 foot curtain rod. I searched all over and ended up finding this one on Amazon because I loved how simple (and inexpensive!) it was.

A big thanks to my Dad for helping me with this! Next up to tackle is hanging artwork and just add the finishing touches. I just love how this room is coming together!
