Happy Saturday friends! I mixed things up this week and missed checking in with you on my normal Friday due to the Eat, Drink and Be Thankful week-long series. If you missed any posts celebrating Thanksgiving this week I’ve linked them all here. But I honestly couldn’t let a week go by without a brain dump with my favorite people! So bundle up and meet me on the porch and let’s get to chatting!
I enjoyed my first Peppermint Mocha in a holiday cup of the season this week, which is about as far as I’ve gotten in the Christmas department. Hoping to start to tackle it this weekend! I did manage to pull out the tubs and the flocked tree I grabbed last year. Spoiler Alert- it is only $35! If you have been wanting a flocked tree but not ready to make a big investment, this is a fun “starter” version. You can buy it here- SIX FOOT FLOCKED TREE. Here you can see it in my dining room last year…
This sweater. I bought it when it was 40% off. It arrived this week. I haven’t taken it off since. It’s 40% off again. Order it. So soft. Fun Sleeves. Perfect color.
Speaking of making progress on Christmas decorating, I read this tree ribbon tutorial and am so excited to give it a whirl this year. I have been doing it all wrong all these years. Mind blown! How pretty are her trees?!?!
I had an hour to kill this week between kiddo drop offs and of course my car drove straight to Hobby Lobby. All of the Christmas decor and ribbons were 50%. Here is my haul. Aside from this and a new Christmas Tree collar, I am really going to try to not buy anything else new! I’m loving that dusty blue velvet and satin ribbon. (sorry if you live near me, I bought all they had!)
How fun is that tassel garland I found though? (linked here) It was only $7.50 and I put it in the bar for the holidays. I love how it makes it feel festive but is not over the top.
This wall of tubs stopped me in my tracks this week. How dreamy is this from @kimpr0vements? I wish I had the space to do this… and also the energy. Right?!?! Major goals!
Monday was Veteran’s Day and I have to send my love to my favorite Veteran! Here is my Grandpa in the US Navy in 1945. He served on the USS Alabama, which now resides in Mobile, AL. We were in church last Sunday and our Pastor had all of the Veterans stand so we could honor them. I remember as a kid when they did this in church and so many stood, including my Grandfather. Sadly, it seemed there were fewer to stand now… They really were the Greatest Generation!
I got a bee in my bonnet and gave an overlooked guest bathroom some love this week. These framed pictures had been leaning against the wall waiting to be hung for months. So I hung them. And it was a domino effect because before I knew it, I was zhushing up the whole space.
Not sure why it took me M-O-N-T-H-S, but I cannot express how much joy just having these pictures hung has brought me this week. I’m on the hunt for a rug and then I will share this full little bathroom refresh with you! If you have pictures waiting to be hung, I highly encourage you to just do it already. (seriously, go hang them right now, I will just sit here on the porch and wait until you get back)
Last but not least, my bestie arrived to our girls night on Thursday night in this darling jacket. It is SO SO SO SO SO cute. The online pictures don’t do it justice. In person, the pattern was more muted and it looked like something from a boutique. I love a zipper coat and it has a great collar. It’s 40% off – making it only $45! Super cute top layer for this winter.
Wow, I feel so much better after our little chat! Happy weekend friends!
xoxo-
Heather
That photo of all the tubs is amazing! I have 4 in my attic, labeled. I have been purging and it feels so good!
Love the bird (pheasant) photos in the bathroom but then you know I have a thing for birds! And turtles! The list goes on!
Just started following your adorable blog – and -Oh – my GOODNESS – I love the storage – and – duh – brilliant – separate out HARVEST (Fall-Autumn). AND Thanksgiving AND Halloween…. I just sort of have ALL of it in ONE set of bins – and those bins get dragged up and down 2-3 times between August and November…….
I look forward to future coffee mornings! Thank you!
