Hello my friends and happpppppy Friday! I have been in a fog for weeks and I think I just had a case of the “Januaries” so I am definitely glad that February is in full swing. Although I did still have a sick kid home this week- we can’t seem to catch a break! I don’t like wishing away time but I think we can all agree that this is just a rough time of year. So let’s grab a cup of coffee and catch up on the front porch to shake these winter blues. Can you believe this our 25th Coffee Talk? I have really enjoyed this series and hope you enjoy it too! If you want to catch up on any old ones- you can see them all here.
VALENTINE SHELFIE
One way I kicked my case of the “Januaries” to the curb was by pulling out a few Valentine items. Well, by a few, I guess I mean two. But look how cute they are on the shelf! I borrowed the art from my master closet and the heart is a clay treasure that one of the boys made at school. A little pop of pink goes a long way around here.
FREE APPLE TV
Did you know that if you have purchased a new Apple product in the last year, you can get free Apple TV for a year? We just took advantage of the offer and binged The Morning Show. Not for the faint of heart and there are some very tough topics covered. The beginning was a bit slow but the ending was just WOW. And can we just talk about Jennifer Aniston’s wardrobe in the series? I wanted every single thing she wore.
CHEER
Speaking of TV time, have you binged Cheer yet? If you haven’t heard of it, it’s a six episode documentary on Netflix about a junior college cheer team. The students, the coach, their athleticism and endless determination- it all makes for some seriously great TV! Last Saturday night, my family all fell asleep early. So I decided it would be a good idea to enjoy some “me time” with a little nonsense TV. Well, little did I know that I would find Cheer and it would turn into a 3 hour binge session. And then there was no stopping the addiction so I finished it off this week when my husband was out town. I definitely did not expect to enjoy this show as much as I did and recommend it!
LEGO MASTERS
Well while we are on the topic of TV, here is a rec for Lego lovers. Legos are a BIG deal around here. Which means we are super excited about the new show called Lego Masters. It started this past Wednesday (February 5th) and it’s a reality show dedicated to Lego Building competitions. It feels similar to some of the fun baking shows that the boys like to watch and we are SO excited around here for it to start! We recorded it and hope to get a chance to watch it this weekend.
COFFEE CREAMER
Where my Peep fans? I snapped this pic to send to my sister this week while I was grocery shopping because we used to eat Peeps every chance we could when we were little. Part of me is SO intrigued and part of me is SO disgusted. Ultimately, I passed on buying this but I am still so curious what it would taste like.
2020 ELECTION
Is anyone else in disbelief that we will be hearing about the presidential election for the next eleven months? I mean, don’t get me wrong- I realize the importance and will certainly vote. But, I may not start paying attention *quite* yet…
BATHROOM LIGHTS
In case you missed my Instagram post about these bathroom lights…
My Dad is handy and growing up he would sometimes ask me to run to Home Depot to get odds and ends for whatever project he was working on. Let’s just say that my 16 year old self did not enjoy these trips! (Although these projects most likely benefited me) It really put me out of my comfort zone. I remember I would walk into Home Depot and wander around looking for a certain drill bit or screws or whatever. But I was learning how to figure stuff out. Fast forward to today…I changed out this pair of vanity lights. All by myself! Never in a million years did I think that almost 25 years later I would partner with Home Depot to update my kid’s bathroom. And so I called my dad to thank him for sending me on those Home Depot runs and forcing me to get out of my comfort zone and figure stuff out. (Well in all honesty I also called to make sure I wasn’t about to electrocute myself) So thanks Dad! I know he could have just as easily ran to Home Depot but I’m pretty sure he knew what he was doing.
THE VARSITY
Not sure how it’s even possible, but we had our first Varsity outing with the boys in January. Even though we go to lots of Georgia Tech games and it’s only minutes away from our house, we have never made the trip. So glad we finally remedied that. Let’s just say the boys were big fans. That Frosted Orange didn’t stand a chance!
HEART EARRINGS
What girl doesn’t need a pair of heart earrings in her life? I rounded up lots of cute options for you- just click here.
