Well, we’ve made it to another Friday my friends! We’ve got two weeks of school under our belt and I am so incredibly grateful to see two smiling boys when I pick them up every afternoon. The masks continue to be a challenge but hey- we can do hard things. On another positive note- the mornings are cooling off and while the afternoons are still steamy, there is something about the promise of fall that is helping my soul more than ever. While I love summer, knowing that the seasons are passing is a positive reminder that we will be out of this current season of life someday.
I’d love to hear what is happening in your world so grab your coffee and meet me on the porch, it’s time for this week’s Front Porch Coffee Talk.
FREE EBOOKS WITH THE LIBBY APP
Mom has been raving about the Libby Library App for months and months and I finally took the time to get myself set up. Turns out Mom was right- this app is AH-MAZING! All you need is a library card and you get free ebook (and audiobook although I haven’t tried this yet) rentals just like you would if you went into your local branch! I wish I would have listened to Mom long ago.
While I have been sending my loans to my Kindle, you can send them to an Ipad or even your phone. Many of the books I have requested are on a 6 month wait list so do-as-I-say-and-not-as-a-I-do because I am definitely wishing I would have started this process months ago. And to catch up on my recent reads- click here.
THIS ONE MADE ME LAUGH
Yes, I think we could all use some precedented times right about now.

This Sunday is the last day of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! Have you done any fall shopping yet? For some of my finds- you can read my post here. I’d love to hear what you ordered if you have already shopped.

STAR WARS ON THE BIG SCREEN
Sweet B became Star Wars obsessed over the summer and we logged lots of hours watching the old movies. (confession: it was the first time I had ever seen any of them!) But there is nothing like seeing something on the big screen! So I was thrilled when I saw that an old Star Wars was playing at our local movie theater- Episode V from 1980. Even better that we had some gift cards to use up. Extra bonus- we practically had the place to ourselves. There was a 4:30 showing which was perfect for after school with plenty of time to make it home for bed. It was the first time any of us had seen a Star Wars movie in the theater and something I will remember forever!

Usually you will get the book much faster than the app says. I’ve had two with 16 week holds and got them much sooner. I finished Next Year in Havana and I loved it. Then I read the sequel, When we left Cuba, by Chanel Cleeton. Both books make me want to visit Cuba! I tried the audio version on Libby but I can’t sit and listen, I have to be doing something, like baking or cleaning and then I loose track. I’d much rather have the book form! Happy Reading!
