Front Porch Coffee Talk

in Front Porch Coffee Talk on 10/08/20

Happy Friday friends! Feeling so grateful to have made it through another week and able to enjoy this beautiful fall weather. This weekend is our fall break and it couldn’t come at a better time! I think we all could use a little break and downtime. I do think that after having so much down time this spring and summer it has been a much bigger adjustment to get back to feeling “normal” this fall. And who are we kidding, it really doesn’t feel “normal” at all. But we are just staying positive and doing our best. I do love this opportunity to have a brain dump here with you on the weekly Front Porch Coffee Talk … so grab your coffee and let’s “chat” sweet friends!

CUTE FALL TOTE

I ordered a few new things for fall from Target and was pleasantly surprised with this green quilted tote. Actually now that I am looking at this picture- I am wearing lots of new stuff! You can see them all here:

OCTOBER BALLOON GARLAND

Our friends had a cute socially distant pumpkin patch party in their front yard last weekend. She hired a pumpkin farm to deliver a load of pumpkins and they were spread out all over her yard for people to come and grab and say hi. Isn’t that the cutest pandemic party idea? But the real show stopper was this beautiful balloon garland on her front door. It’s just the most “October” thing ever!

FIRST DATE NIGHT

I really don’t think I am exaggerating when I say that Brian and I have not had a date night since February. Sure, we have been out to dinner with friends a few times and done some outings with the kids but it has been MONTHS since we had a good ol’ fashioned date night! So we decided to take it up a notch and head over to Reynolds Plantation at Lake Oconee for a night last weekend. (Thanks to my parents for watching the boys!) We had perfect fall weather and we even rented a boat for a couple hours. (shhhh, don’t tell the boys ha!)  Yay for a fun getaway and a few hours to reconnect!

CARPOOL CHRONICLES

Every afternoon I head to the carpool line to grab the boys from school and there is 45 minutes between when I pick up Sweet B from K and Sweet P from 3rd grade.  I am mandating a no device policy for Sweet B in that 45 minutes so we have to come up with ways to keep ourselves entertained…

This guy came to carpool with me this week and it was a hoot having him greet the boys when I picked them up. The teachers all thought it was funny (and I’m sure they think I am nuts) but what can I say? I crack myself up!

VEGGIE CRUDITE CUPS

Speaking of school, we had a sweet socially distant Kindergarten Class Mom’s Night this week on a friend’s back porch. My friend made these cute individual veggie cups to serve and they turned out so cute! She really had a nice presentation! She said she used these cups from Amazon , used Giada’s White Bean Dip as the base and that lettuce on the platter is a reusable placemat. Genius!

FITNESS DIARY- WEEK SIX UPDATE

I am half way through my 12 Week Fitness Goals Challenge  and I am feeling good!  This week I got back on track and I need to figure out how to STAY MOTIVATED over the next six weeks! It really is so easy to come up with an excuse… the struggle is REALLLLLLL.

  • Goal Arm Workout 4 times = 4 DONE
  • Goal Pilates Video 4 times = 4 DONE
  • Goal 1o Miles Walking Per Week- 9
  • Intermittent Fasting = 5 days

Reflections:

  • We ordered a Peloton that will be delivered in a few weeks so I will likely shift my exercise goals when that arrives.
