Happy FRIDAY! Hard to believe we have already conquered the first week of 2021. For us, it’s been hunkered down doing virtual school and trying to get back into a routine! 19 days of a break wreaked havoc on our sleep and schedules and we are on the struggle bus getting back in the swing of things. I’m definitely going to need a second cup this morning, so grab your coffee and meet me on the porch it’s time for our Front Porch Coffee Talk .
MRS. MOMMY
I haven’t had both boys home virtual since last spring but they have been home this past week as a delayed start back to school precaution. I am thankful for the school being proactive on this decision to allow more time from the holiday gatherings. We fell right back into our roles that we perfected last spring and they did great!
And can we just talk about how amazing teachers are? I just appreciate them SO SO MUCH.
2021 PLOT?
NEW BUNK BEDS
Sweet B had been begging for bunk beds for forever so we finally made it happen! It arrived well before Christmas and we finally had a chance to put it together over Christmas break. I am planning to share a full post on his new set up next week…but first he needs to do a major clean up. 🙂 AGAIN
WINTER PLANTER IDEA
I always feel that the period post holidays is such an awkward time of year when it comes to porch planters! Last year I shared this birch log idea – which was free for me using things from around the house. This is on my to-do list again for my own porch to get us through until warmer spring days ahead.
MY JANUARY PROJECT
Yep. I am sharing this picture on the internet. This is my closet. The one where I store all of my extra lamps, pillows, artwork and decor. Basically where my inner hoarder lives and plays. The closet where for the past three years I have been shoving things here and there without any real method or plan. And it is completely out of control. I have been planning on a complete clean out (as in- taking every single thing OUT and starting over) this January for a few months so I have been very guilty of just shoving things in here recently making it nearly impossible to even walk into. If I go missing- please come find me buried at the bottom of all of this mess! And hopefully stay tuned for an update!
Oh wait- there is MORE! Send help.
BABY STEPS
While the project I shared above is a big one, I also want to share a small way that I have been ticking away at clutter. Whenever I feel like the walls are closing in on me, I grab a grocery bag and tackle one drawer or cabinet at a time with stuff to toss. So far this year I have done the kids dish cabinet, Tupperware drawer, a game cabinet and a kitchen drawer. I find this is is such a great bite size way to tackle spaces and look at what I was able to purge just by doing this for a few minutes here and there.
PELOTON FUN!
Where my Peloton Peeps? I am so happy this new toy arrived because I am LOVING it! This Beatles ride gave me life. I am still exploring my favorite instructors but the more I dig around and do rides, the more I get the hype around Peloton.
Happy weekend! Stay warm!
