Front Porch Coffee Talk

Hello hello from the Sunshine State! It’s time for another Front Porch Coffee Talk, where we get to pretend we are sitting on the front porch just chatting about whatever is on our minds. So grab your coffee and let’s chat! I’ll take mine with ice and a heavy side of sunshine. 🙂

The boys and I are wrapping up our time down at my parents beach house and I am so so sad that our trip is coming to an end. It’s been so nice to unplug and enjoy low-key family time. (and picture me not really sure what day it is most of the time!) This week’s highlights include seeing my nieces jump in the ocean for the first time and spotting this rare Leatherback Turtle nest. We see lots of Loggerhead nests during our time here, but this is the first time I have seen one for the Leatherback. It is massive! Sadly we haven’t seen any turtle babies this year like in years past, but we still have a few days!

I love having Sister and Sister-Cousin time! Apparently we were channeling our identical twin mamas when we dressed for the beach with our matching hats and turquoise swimsuits. But seriously- a trucker style Patagonia hat is a must for taming beach hair and keeping the sun off my face. I found a few options on sale for under $25 here.

Last week I shared that I was about half way done with Where the Crawdads Sing. Well, I have officially finished it, read another book and already started my third one! But Where the Crawdads Sing was such a great book- I never wanted it to end, but could not wait to see how it ended! I highly recommend. The other book I read was called The Wife Between Us- I enjoyed it as well- think Girl on the Train. And I just started Little Fires Everywhere- high hopes for this one as well.

Good vibes are easy when you are at the beach! I ordered this tank before we left and it was perfect to throw on after long days at the beach. Of course, the statement earrings, hat and sunglasses help to cover the beach hair and no makeup.

Isn’t this room to die for?  My “Aunt” (the boys call her Aunt although she is really just a close family friend) just added this amazing room to her beach cottage. And the fish was a Scott’s Antique Market find. The addition and renovation turned out so great and I hope to share more details in a post soon. 

I  bought these pom-pom shorts last year (in red, white AND navy) and have been wearing them nonstop with my swimsuits this year. Right now they are on sale for $15 and perfect for something cute and easy to throw on.

Cute family alert! And yes, I am referring to my own. 🙂 I am forever grateful for this time at the beach every summer with the boys. It is such a blessing and it makes my mama heart sing to know that these are the memories the boys will look back on when they think of their childhood summers. Last but not least, the Nordstrom Anniversary sale is live and I shared my TOP 15 PICKS yesterday. I placed my first order last night- this dress and this jacket. Sadly the camel knee boots I want are still sold out- but I will keep looking to see if they restock them!
