Happy Thursday to you!
I sure hope you are staying warm…and healthy. My crew has been sick this week, the baby with a cold and the little guy with a stomach bug. Ahhh, spring and less germs, you can’t get here soon enough!
Today I am here with an update on a mini-makeover I started before we went out of town. The master closet was on the top of the list of projects to tackle this year. When you see the before pictures below you will understand why! Husband had to travel for the week so I knew it would be a great time to start.
And by start, I mean I took every single thing out and started from scratch. I knew it was going to be painful, but it was the only way to really make myself PURGE and rethink the tiny space to make it work best for me. Along the way, I added a few simple touches to help make the space feel more like a chic boutique. Figured just because the closet is tiny doesn’t mean it can’t work hard and be somewhat chic!
This is five years of haphazard nonsense in the making.
The first thing I did was give it a fresh coat of light pink paint- Benjamin Moore Wild Aster. I painted all the walls and even the ceiling and love the subtle feminine touch it added.
Once I had the general layout of the closet decided, I began the task of sorting through what was going back in. I removed over half of what was originally in here.
This was painful but freeing!
Some things were donated or consigned, maternity clothes were passed on to the next expecting mother, and items that I didn’t wear very often were moved into tubs in the attic.
Then I realized I was a leopard shoe hoarder, but that my friends is a different post for a different day. #issues
