Watching Home Alone has long been a Christmas tradition for our family. We usually watch it Thanksgiving weekend, and we can all pretty much recite the lines by now. While we love the movie, we are also big fans of the soundtrack. The music just makes the movie, doesn’t it? So it was very cool to see Home Alone in concert with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra this past weekend!
When I saw that Home Alone was playing as part of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra movie series, I figured it would be the perfect event to kick off the holidays with the crew. The way it works is that the movie plays on a large screen and the orchestra plays along the score of the movie. The stars aligned and we were in town this past weekend, which was the only weekend they were performing it at the Atlanta Symphony. While it was sold out, I was able to snag some seats through a resale option.
I really enjoyed having the full orchestra playing along… and we even had a full choir come out on stage to perform the church song scenes!
We left in plenty of time and enjoyed a family dinner at nearby Holeman & Finch beforehand. (the boys liked the burgers! ) We were able to walk right over to the Woodruff Arts Center from the restaurant. It was a festive crowd!
It was fun to get dressed up and enjoy a night kicking off the holidays in Atlanta!
XOXO-
