Woo hooo! Today is the day that I get to share the boys bathroom reveal! I am thrilled to have this space completed and so thankful for challenges like this to keep me focused and on track to finish projects. If you missed it, I have been working on updating the boys bathroom throughout January as part of the New Year, New Room Challenge. You can catch up on all of the posts here:

Before starting a room I always like to make a quick vision board to help me visualize the look. Usually it ends up with lots of changes along the way but it’s a great place to help me get started. So let’s take a quick look at the vision: And here is where we landed!
RUG:
Originally I thought I would do a muted neutral rug, but then I had a wild hair and found this Turkish rug on Etsy. Love the pop of red and how it has just enough muted blue, black and taupe to pull the art, curtains and towels together.

TOWELS:
There is only so much you can do in a bathroom so I went all out for the towels in here! I just LOVE these monogram towels and am so happy I made the splurge.

I also splurged on a set of hand towels and I just love the way they turned out. I didn’t know towels could be so beautiful!

ART:
I scoured Etsy and found two fun pictures for the bathroom. The first is this TAR HEELS camp flag. I just knew it would be perfect in here AND it’s something I like and the boys do too! I just used a simple frame from my stash to hang it.

I also found this great neutral lake print on Etsy and this store has tons of options of various lakes. This is a sketch of Lake Burton (which is a spot near and dear to our hearts) and I love how it represents something we love but feels abstract.
CURTAINS:
I had big hopes of making a set of custom pinch pleated café curtains. But seriously, who was I kidding?!? No way the sewing machine was coming out this week. So I found these blue checked curtains on Amazon and tried to recreate the pinch pleat look using curtain clips.

TILE:
We found our tile at Floor & Decor here locally in Atlanta. They recently redid their showroom and we had a great experience! This is the exact tile we used in the shower and on the floors.

LIGHTS:
We updated the lights with some pretty polished chrome sconces from Pottery Barn. I love how fresh and bright they are.

MIRRORS:
The simple swivel polished chrome mirrors were an Amazon find. I think they are timeless and love the way they turned out. There used to be one big large mirror on this wall, and these really helped to elevate the space.

SOAP DISPENSERS:
The new shower has an awesome niche to hold soaps so instead of having a hodge podge of bottles I splurged and got this pretty matching set. It might be a bit over the top for a kids bathroom, but we’ve come this far, so why not take a little extra step to keep things pretty when you walk into the room!

What a delightful room you have created here for your boys. I am going to get the soap dispensers and I checked out the Etsy site; what a find. I am considering such a rug for my bathroom. Do you anticipate any problems with care and cleaning of the rug? I so want this to work.

So pretty and just enough masculine touches for boys.
