Hi friends and welcome to our Christmas home! If you are new here today coming over from Rhoda at Southern Hospitality, welcome. If you’re a familiar face, welcome back and thank you for all of your sweet comments earlier this week on our kitchen in the first stop of our 2018 Peach Valley Christmas Tour. I love hearing from you, and I hope you found a few nuggets of inspiration for your home as well.
Today we are moving along to the living room. This room has come a LONG way since last Christmas and I haven’t even shared all of the updates yet! So not only are you getting a dose of holiday inspiration, you are also getting a first look at our newly furnished living room.

The changes I am referring to are is all of the furniture and rug you see here. We took several months figuring out our best floor plan afer we moved in. Slowly but surely this past spring we ordered furniture and the room came together.
As I’ve mentioned, our main living area is one big open room that attaches to the kitchen. Here you can see how it connects to the informal dining space.
Here is the view from the kitchen over to the informal dining area.
From here you can see how this space connects to the kitchen, which is why I try to keep the kitchen clutter-free. It’s all one big room!
Oh, and hi there antelope ornaments! In case you missed it, I share the tutorial for those yesterday. I will be back to share more details on the tree in a full post, but here is a glimpse.
You can also get a glimpse of the built ins from here…
I kept these very simple and just hung a wreath on both of them. I love the simplicity but also that it feels festive! The blue and white bowl will hold our Christmas cards as they arrive. (and that reminds me I really need to order ours- eeeek)
I also added these brass duck book ends and some ribbon. I scored five duck book ends at a trip to the Goodwill a few months back and have been waiting to bring them out for the holidays! Not sure why but they feel holiday to me!?
Here is the other shelf, if you look close, you can see two more brass ducks. And of course, the matching wreath hung with green ribbon.
OK, now let’s take a look at the mantle. I asked for these monogrammed stockings for Christmas once Sweet B was born and our little fam was complete. I love the classic red and love hanging these up every year. The garland is from Trader Joe’s and one of three I purchased fresh this year. So so simple.

I’m so happy with how Christmas looks in this room and cannot wait to see the boys run down those steps on Christmas morning!
On the mantel you can see a few of our nutcrackers. My mother in law gave us her collection and has been adding to it every year giving the boys each one, so my guess is that we have 75 or so? I have them scattered in several places, but honestly I didn’t even pull all of the tubs out this year.
I love them all and have lots of favorites, but that one in the sweater drinking coffee just makes me smile.
The final detail I love in this room is the clove oranges. I have been wanting to make these for years and was shocked at how easy it was! I just placed them on some magnolia leaves in a bowl. Voila! Perfect kid-friendly coffee table addition.
I hope you enjoyed a glimpse into our Christmas home! Now does anyone have any tips for explaining to their four year old that every night is not Christmas Eve?! He keeps expecting to wake up to presents. I’m hoping the Advent Calendar countdown does the trick! 🙂
Oh and be sure to stick around for so much more inspiration below! The next stop on the tour is Shirley from Housepitality Designs, so be sure to stop in. I can’t wait to see what everyone is up to this year. And a HUGE thanks to the sweet ladies at 11 Magnolia Lane for putting this together.
xoxo-
