Shaking Up The Makeup Routine

Today I am back with another post on my “stay-at-home-but-try-to-do-something-with-yourself” style inspiration. Last week I got some happy mail: a box chock-full-of new Mary Kay® makeup.

And not just any box of makeup – it was filled with hand-selected makeup to create three different country-inspired looks: All American Girl, Queen of Country and Boho Chic. Basically, this mama was like a kid in a candy store!

When it comes down to it, I have been rocking the same boring makeup routine since high school. Having a makeup artist pick out new makeup for me was SUCH a treat. I have always been terrible at picking out makeup for myself. It’s true. While I can get lost picking out fabrics and paints all day long, picking out makeup has not been my strong suit. And then once I actually do pick it out, I’m all, “How do I put this on without looking like a clown?!?!”

Recently, I shared that one of the biggest adjustments of being a stay at home mom was the whole feeling put together issue. You see, I had the work wardrobe down and it was easy for me to get dressed every morning, put make up on… and you know, not feel like a slug. The struggle is real y’all!

Staying home has changed everything. Everything for the better, except all of those work clothes hanging in my closet. Getting dressed to take care of little ones is a challenge. Putting on makeup? Definitely not high on the priority list. After all, I don’t think my threenager cares if I have mascara on.

As a new stay at home mom, I am determined to keep myself up – wear that closet full of clothes, style my hair, and wear makeup.

So it was fun to put together an outfit and makeup look using the All-American Girl makeup they sent. Honestly, I let myself off easy though because this really is the closest to my every day look. I am looking forward to trying out the Queen of Country and Boho Beauty looks too!

For my outfit, I decided to rock the camo pants that I have been threatening about. Paired with a striped sweater and polka dot denim shirt and pink jewelry to make it feel feminine. All-American for sure!
