If you are just joining us, we are chatting about kitchens this week. Nothing hard or major, just simple things you can do to make yours pretty.
Alright! We made it to the middle of the week. Give yourself a pat on the back and allow yourself a quick break. And while you are on said break, take a good hard look at your kitchen counters. What do you see?
The blender.
The fruit basket.
The Keurig and K-Cups.
The paper towels.
Dish soap.
Canisters.
Bottles.
Mail.
Matchbox Cars.
Oh wait, is that just me? 🙂 Over time, I think we are all guilty. Stuff just ends up piling up on your counters. Before long, when you actually stop to take a look, you may realize that you don’t really need half of what is sitting out.
So, I decided to take EVERYTHING off my counters.
Every.
Single.
Thing.
And I took a good hard look at what we REALLY needed. For example, we use the blender MAYBE once a week. Surely we can handle the 10 seconds it takes to take out and put away, right?
And one by one, I edited down only the items I really need and a few accessories. At the end of the day, the only appliance that got to stay was Keurig since I used it every morning.
What a difference it made! I don’t have the before pic, but I have a feeling you know what it looks like. It may even be staring you in the face right now! (ha, am I right?)
As far as accessories, I don’t know why I was drawn to red since it has been years since I have used red in my decor. I guess it was playing off the Red Keurig. But regardless, I am loving the pop of color and the red with the blue.
And PS: I am LOVING this little lamp in the kitchen. I leave it on pretty much all of the time and it really helps make the room feel homey.
Cost- ZERO!
