Southern State of Mind Blog by Heather

Squeeze the Day and Make a Simple Lemon Wreath

in Outdoor, Porch Life on 05/22/19

I’m always so tempted to go straight to my typical red, white and blue for the summer around here but this summer I am taking a little bit of a yellow and orange detour. Funny how a change as little as a new color can give me new life around the house!

I was excited when Kristi from The Happy Housie invited me to join her Wreath Party today where 25 other bloggers are sharing summer wreaths. Of course, I used it as an excuse to infuse some yellow on the front porch with a simple boxwood and lemon wreath. I was even more excited when I realized I had all of the items for a lemon wreath already on hand at the house. Yay for a new (free to me) wreath just in time for summer.

BOXWOOD LEMON WREATH- MATERIALS I USED:

  • Grapevine Wreath
  • Fresh Boxwood Clippings
  • Small Faux Lemons
  • Glue Gun

BOXWOOD LEMON WREATH- DIRECTIONS:

This wreath was easy to assemble and I took some pics along the way to show you how I put it together.

I am definitely loving this little pop of yellow on the porch this summer! And of course, it is the perfect complement to the Buffalo Check Rug which is currently on sale for $11! I have this rug in blue as well and I just love to switch them out based on the season and whatever colors I am feeling for the front porch.

Okay, the wreath is lovely, but YOU. You look stunning. I love the symmetry of your pretty lemon wreath and almost wish I’d done something similar with mine. Pinning it to my wreath board now! xo Tauni

What a cute wreath. About how long does that wreath stay green? I have boxwoods as well in my front yard, but was told it is so hard to use fresh boxwood and have it stay pretty throughout the season.
