I am gearing up for our upcoming annual summer beach trek, getting organized, and making my lists for the trip. I cannot wait to have my feet in the sand and my nose in a book. Ha, ha, who am I kidding?!? I realize I have two little guys and reading isn’t exactly number one on my agenda while we are at the beach, but I am really going to try to squeeze in a couple books during our down time. #momgoals
I’ve been keeping a running list of the fun suggested beach reads I have heard about. Because I do have such a small window of time that I can actually read, I want to make sure they are great books! Some of these listed look like super easy beach reads, and there are definitely a few that are more “heavy”.
This one checks all of requirements! Southern beach town, about sisters, and the first of a series. I love finding a good series I can get into!
And here is the second one in the series! Does anyone else wish that was them on the cover of this book right now?
Speaking of sisters, has anyone read this yet? I’ve had it on my list for awhile. I just adore Jenna Bush and would love to sit down and have lunch with her because I just know we would be besties. #notastalker But since that will never happen, this is the next best thing! I think this would be a fun read and would love to learn more about being a daughter of the president and living in the white house. And of course, since mom is a twin, I am also always intrigued about twin sisters.
I am a sucker for Mary Kay Andrews books, they are just the perfect summertime read. This is her new release and I believe the only one I haven’t read yet of hers. The cover sure is cute!
I am a sucker for historical fiction and I love the idea of this book. It is the story about the woman who dated JFK before he met Jackie O and apparently it was quite the scandal. This one is currently in my Amazon cart!
While this one is not a light beach read, I have heard it is a must read. Mom said it was one of her all time favorite books! With almost 40,000 positive reviews on Amazon, I am thinking she is not the only one who loves it.
The Beach House
Beach House Memories
Swimming Lessons
Beach House for Rent
Beach House Reunion
A few summers ago, I read the first three books in The Beach House series and loved them. It’s no secret we are sea turtle lovers and have enjoyed their encounters over the years. (to read more about that, click here) These books are set in the lowcountry and has lots of great info about mama loggerhead turtles and their nesting habits. I was excited to see that two more books have been added to the series and definitely added these to my list.
So what would you add? I would love to hear your top summer beach read recommendations!
Happy weekend sunshines!

The book list is great. I’ve read most of them including The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah, it’s about living in the wilderness of Alaska, her books are always page turners!! I hope you have plenty of time to read some of these books while at the beach! Happy reading!

Love your list of beach reads! I also love all the Mary Alice Monroe books about the beach and turtles
nesting. One book that I enjoyed reading was MAIDEN VOYAGE, by Tania Aebi. Not really a beach read but it is
about the ocean! ON FOLLY BEACH, by Karen White is another good one! One last comment, I just picked up BEACH
HOUSE FOR RENT, by Mary Alice Monroe..it is about shorebirds and looks good!
