Remember that Memorial Day Weekend trip to Lake Oconee I shared a few weeks back? Well, knowing we had four little dudes ready for some fun in the sun, I couldn’t resist making them their own “Fun in the Sun Summer Beach Buckets.”
This is such a fun way to make a trip feel more special! I love that the boys had their own water squirters and the buckets came in handy for catching minnows. We also had a few bug catchers for lightning bugs, although it was too early in the summer to find any over that weekend, it has come in handy back at home.
Everything in these buckets I found at the Dollar Tree, and included water squirters, bug catchers, pool balls, floats and a plastic cup with lid.
I tried to coordinate the cups with the buckets and it worked well for each boy to have their own cup while we were in our villa.
To write their names I used a big sharpie. (note, don’t get a blue bucket if your sharpie is blue- I obviously learned the hard way!)
I’m not sure what it is about beach buckets, but my boys just love them! And this is such a simple way to make a couple little kiddos feel special!
OK, now it’s time for more fun in the sun!

This is a really good idea, I may have to try it. We have a trip around the great lakes in a few weeks and plan to stop at a number of beaches. My girls would love a special little bucket of their own.

You CANNOT go wrong with a bucket in the summer. Sometimes, the least expensive items are worth their weight in gold. This is a super fun way to start off the summer 🙂
