Hi friends! Are you experiencing major spring fever this week? We went from having a snow day last week to Sweet P wearing shorts to school this week. And I am not mad at all! I definitely have spring on the brain and can’t wait to share some spring projects I have in the works. But first, today I want to share why you need this cute little glass cloche with base… and how to make it for only $3!
If you love changing things up in your kitchen with the seasons and holidays then I think this little glass cloche with base is the perfect item to keep in your home accessory “capsule.”
Here you can see I styled it with Valentine Cakes (um, yes- these are in fact the fancy Little Debbie Valentine Cakes from the grocery store!).
But isn’t it precious?
Mini Cloche | Southern Cake Book |
Can’t you just see this out on the counter for each season? Picture a chocolate bunny for Easter, or a mini gingerbread house for Christmas. Think fresh lemons and limes for summer and tiny pumpkins for fall. Today I will share how I made this for around $3, but if you aren’t a DIY Girl- this cloche from Crate and Barrel looks pretty cute and would have the same look.
How to Make a Glass Cloche with Base
Supplies Needed:
- Small Glass Vase- I found the one shown below at the Dollar Tree
- Glass Taper Holder- I found the one shown below at the Dollar Tree
- Glass Plate- I think this is for a candle- You guessed it- from the Dollar Tree!
- Gorilla Glue- or any glue you have on hand that works with glass
Directions:
All you have to do is follow the directions for the glue and glue the taper holder to the glass plate. Then I just plopped a heavy book on top and let it sit for 24 hours.
Then I just turned the vase upside and voila- instant sweetness for my counter!
I hope you are inspired to add a little Valentine’s Day to your kitchen counters with this simple method. And of course, grab a box of those Little Debbie cake hearts. Just be prepared for your kids to beg for them every night after dinner.
xoxo-
Heather
