It was a big weekend in our house as we finally welcomed home our sweet baby girl. Please say hello to our new family addition- Miss Millie!
Millie is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a complete love bug. She is settling in well and already bringing lots of joy and entertainment to our household. You may remember that we had to say goodbye to our beloved Chocolate Lab Bella four years ago and it has taken me this long to feel “ready” to get another dog.
With two little guys I just wasn’t prepared to take on the extra responsibility of a puppy while I was in the thick of things with them. But the boys have been begging, my husband was on board and honestly my heart felt like it was time since now both of my babies are not babies anymore! I am so glad we waited because it was a fun family affair to select a breed that we all agreed on and pick out a name together. Of course, I requested a girl and you better believe I am already scheming up her Halloween costume and Christmas attire.
Although, the boys will make sure she stays rough and tough too. 🙂
As much as I loved our sweet lab, I knew I wanted a much smaller breed this time. After considering all of the options, we finally all agreed on a Cavalier King Charles. We chose this breed for their size and temperament and so far I am really happy with the decision. When she is full grown she will likely be 15-20 pounds.
The boys knew she was coming home to us sometime soon, but we were pretty vague on the timing. Then last Friday while they were at school I went and picked her up from North Georgia and they got the ultimate welcome home surprise after school!
She is settling in nicely around here and loves to play and snuggle. It has definitely been an exhausting few days and she is keeping us on our toes, but I know in the long run it will be worth it. She is already cruising with me on carpool runs and we are working on walking on the leash. She has jumped right in the mix and I’m happy to have a little sidekick to keep me company!
We are so excited for this sweet little addition to our family!

Hi Heather! We just added a Cavalier to our family! His name is Bailey and he’s tri-color. We got him three weeks ago, and he’s just what you said-loves to play and cuddle! Bailey goes with us everywhere! We’re going to train him to be a therapy dog. Cavaliers have the perfect temperament for that! Have fun with Millie!! ❤️🐶❤️
