If you are coming over from my friend Carmel at Our Fifth House, WELCOME! Carmel and I got to spend a pre-covid weekend in NYC and she really is as cool in person as she seems on her blog. She outdid herself this year with her beautiful library and I just love her Low-Country-meets-Mid-Century-Modern style.
Today I am sharing my TEN MOST COLORFUL CHRISTMAS MOMENTS around the house and I hope they bring you a smile.
|ONE| FRONT FOYER
We are currently painting the exterior of our home so I wasn’t able to decorate our porch this year. However, from the second you walk in the front door- Christmas welcomes you! Not surprising, I used lots of greens and blues in here.
That is all DIY art paired on the wall, and the chair was also painted by yours truly.
|TWO| NUTCRACKER COLLECTION
If you’ve been around here long, you know the Nutcrackers are kind of like family members to us. They usually come marching in around Thanksgiving and we enjoy their company all holiday long!
These little fellas are full of color and I love adding them to our built ins every year.
THREE | TOPIARY TIME
Our home is unique in that it has two foyer spaces so this year I decided “deck the halls” in the secondary one as well this year. I had a vision in my head to use this wreath with the fun orange citrus details (thrift store find!) and then decided to add a few topiaries on the desk. Um, I didn’t realized I had so many topiaries until I started gathering them! I have never placed them all together and what a cute little collection if I do say so myself.
FOUR || POMANDER BALLS
These oranges with clovers are a fun little detail in our living room. I also had some hot pink ribbon and just decided to GO FOR IT!
|FIVE| FUN & FESTIVE BAR
By far the most fun and colorful spot in our house is the bar this year. Who knew copper mugs would make perfect tree stands for these colorful Christmas trees? I shared a full bar post the other day to see all the details you can click here.
|SIX| NUTCRACKER TREE
When I inherited the Nutcracker collection from my mother in law, it also came with lots of Nutcracker ornaments. So every year I do a separate Nutcracker tree. I added lots of plaids and pink ribbons on this one!
|SEVEN| DINING ROOM
The dining room is actually very neutral this year but I hosted a Favorite Things party this week and couldn’t resist sharing this fun and festive table set for sweet friends with pops of reds and greens. I bought oodles of red cloth napkins one year for a Friendsgiving and they sure have come in handy over the years!
|EIGHT| FAMILY TREE
The sweetest sight I ever did see is this sweet little family Christmas tree! Last year I got myself super organized with this collection of ornaments and it was such a joy putting all of them up this year. Between my parents, my husbands family, 17 years of marriage and two kids through preschool- we have collected quite a sweet collection of precious ornaments. I love each one. 🙂
|NINE| WRAPPING PAPER NOOK
This year I have a fun new festive nook to share with you- it is my very own Santa’s Workshop! This little slice of the North Pole was almost a year in the making- from purging, to organizing, to installing the peel ‘n stick wallpaper, to adding all of the little details. But I honestly use this little nook almost daily. Whether it’s to grab a gift tag, ribbon or just some craft supplies- I am so in love with this tiny little spot. Just goes to show you that you don’t need a big crafting room if you don’t have the space because this little nook packs a big punch!
I shared the full recap a few weeks ago on how I transformed this space from a hoarders dream to this super functional (and pretty) spot! You can read the post here: SMALL AND MERRY || WRAPPING PAPER NOOK
|TEN| HOLIDAY STYLE CLOSET
Last but not least, I am sharing a little unexpected area with you- my closet! This year I am making sure I don’t miss any opportunity to don my yuletide apparel and got my Christmas Closet prepped and ready! I have never thought to do this before but it is already proving to be quite helpful. You better believe I love having this little spot in my closet ready- you can read more about this 20 Minute Organizing Idea HERE.
Alright! That does it for this year’s Wonderful Colorful Home Tour! Be sure to check out the next house on the hop- Tasha! Tasha is so inspirational and a ton of fun to hang with. Her smile can light up a room! Her latest DIY project where she turned her daughter’s hallway into an apartment is CRAZY COOL! Be sure to check out her colorful home at Kaleidoscope Living
