Hello friends and happy holiday weekend! Do you have any fun getaway plans? Or maybe a staycation planned? It is truly one of my most favorite weekends of the year! Low stress but a chance to feel festive and hang out with friends and family. Oh, and grill out and eat festive desserts. Seriously, what’s not to love? Well, grab your coffee and meet me on the porch it’s time for our 98th Front Porch Coffee Talk!
FOURTH OF JULY STAYCATION
While we always love a good weekend getaway, there is something kind of magical about being home during the holiday weekend because it feels like you have the whole town to yourself! A few years ago, I shared a few ways to make your home feel festive and intentional for a Fourth of July staycation. You can read the post HERE.
QUICK DRY TOWELS
I bought this 6 pack of towels to send the boys to camp with and they are already really coming in handy around here too! They are quick dry and compact so take up less room in the beach bag. And they end up being about $8 a towel which I found to be a pretty good price after doing some shopping around.
8th Birthday!
The birthday boy had a great day and we celebrated with an Escape Room outing during the day and a big fireworks outing that night. How fun to have your birthday fall on a Saturday with fireworks!
This was our first time attempting an Escape Room and we had a BLAST! If you are local, we did the Gold Rush theme at The Escape Game at The Battery. We finished with about 6 minutes to spare (and a few hints along the way.) Highly recommend!
Then for his birthday night, we got the neighborhood crew together and went to see some fireworks.
HAPPY CAMPER
My first camper went off last week and we are so excited to hear how it went! The trunk packing came together nicely and I was so thankful for all the tips I got along the way. I have them all saved over on my Instagram under “Camp Finds” highlight if you are still sending a camper off.
BAM Camp
While big brother is away at camp, we have declared BAM Camp at home! BAM is a nickname for “Brooks and Mom” and I have tried to make it a memorable time for him to get some special one-on-one time with me!
SEEING STARS
Found this cute wooden star set for $7 at my local thrift store and had to snatch them up. Aren’t they so cute!?
Happy Happy holiday weekend!

Love those wood stars! They will be terrific at holiday time too. Great fun to find things at the thrift stores.
Thrifting is totally the way to shop and addicting! You get spoiled and don’t want to shop any regular stores!
