It’s a Colorful Life Tour || Snapshots of Fall Home Tour 2020

in Fall, HOME on 10/12/20

Welcome to our Home Sweet Home! Fall is in the air and I am so excited to be joining the fall “It’s a Colorful Life” home tour today. This tour is always a bright spot each season and I love seeing everyone’s colorful homes. A big thanks to Jennifer and Jewel for putting it together!

SOURCES TO SHOP: DRESS  ||  DOORMAT  || PLANTERS || COTTON WREATH

If you are new here- WELCOME! WELCOME!  I’m Heather, the crazy-crafting-iced-coffee-drinking-mom behind the blog. My husband and I live in Atlanta with our two boys – ages 5 and 8. I have been blogging for around six years, ever since I was fortunate to stay home with my youngest.

This blog brings me so much joy and I am so glad you are joining me today to have a look around! One way to catch up with me is to read my Front Porch Coffee Talks where I share what’s on my mind like friends chatting over coffee.

I always love sharing our home with you with hopes that you feel inspired and have a fun few minutes to relax and escape.  So with that, let’s take a fall stroll through our home sweet home starting with the front porch.

SNAPSHOTS OF FALL: THE FRONT PORCH

First stop is always the Front Porch around here. As I mentioned I do a weekly Front Porch Coffee Talk series where I share tidbits of life and whatever is on my mind as if we were two friends sitting on the porch. And it’s where you can find me most mornings.  Few seasons or holidays go by without the porch getting a little tweaking and this fall is no different! I used “pumpkin spice” to inspire this space

To see more details on this space- you can get the full tour here :  Pumpkin Spice Inspired Fall Front Porch

SHOP THE ROOM!

Wicker Chairs | Ottomans  |  Rocking Chairs  |  Striped Rug |  Barn Star  |   Copper Planters  |   Fern Round Terracotta Planter  |   Wicker Garden Stool

SOURCES TO SHOP:  FLORAL DRESS  ||  BOOTIES

For the planters, I grabbed some Black Eyed Susan’s and purplish red coleus and an orange mum. I love the mix of rich colors and you may even notice that I placed fun wire pumpkins among the plants. Love that little detail.

SNAPSHOTS OF FALL: THE FAMILY ROOM

Next stop is the family room!   This space got a quick update with antlers and sunflowers…and lots of pumpkins in the built in bookshelves.

SHOP THE ROOM!

Blue Abstract Art  |   Blue Lamps   |   Gray Recliners  |  White Lamp  |   Ottoman Tray  |
White Throw Blankets |   Navy Pillows   |   Tan Pillows ( I added the Greek Key Trim)   |   Heron Watercolor Prints
White Diamond Indoor Outdoor Carpet Rug  | Blue & White Ginger Jar  | Coffee Table Book- Southerners Handbook|
Large Cutting Board Tray    | Silver Trophy Bucket  |   Vase  |  Large Two Toned Wicker Basket

The kitchen dining nook got a bright dose of color with the sunflowers and the designer inspired DIY pillows are still going strong. These pillows were a labor of love and you can read all about them here.

Can you spot the other DIY Designer Inspired project in this room?  You can see how I made this DIY Hob Knob Lamp here. Spoiler alert- I made mine for under $20!

SNAPSHOTS OF SUMMER: KITCHEN

Next stop is the kitchen. I kept the counters super simple and just did a few Ginger Jars with Trader Joe’s Sunflowers. Since our home is an open concept- I try to keep the kitchen very minimal on clutter and decor.

SHOP THIS ROOM!

DOUBLE HAPPINESS GINGER JAR |    Light Fixture (similar) |   Barstool (similar) |   Antelope Rug Runner

The handwritten recipes that I added above the stove are still there and I still love them! I added six of these handwritten recipes on my FREE RESOURCE LIBRARY if you are interested in hanging framed handwritten recipes in your own kitchen this fall. This and many more free printables are available to Southern State of Mind subscribers.

SNAPSHOTS OF FALL: BACK PORCH

Alright, well before you leave please do come take a look at the haunted back porch. For more details on this space you can read about it here. We love this space all year and it was fun to haunt it for Halloween!

Beautiful fall decor. I love the sunflowers with all the blue and white and your back porch was so fun. I also love the idea of special family recipes printed in the kitchen.

Of course I’m always crazy for blue and white! I love the sunflowers in the Ginger Jars! How absolutely screaming autumn! Great outdoor area, I know you must just use that space an awful lot!

I almost missed your home in the tour. I am glad I caught it in the recap. I am inspired by your straightforward style.
