Let’s Kick Off the New Year with a Kid’s Bathroom Makeover

in Inspiration on 01/07/20

Hi friends! I am so excited because today I am kicking off the first project of 2020! I had hoped to pop on here before today but today is the first day the boys are back in school and our break seemed to fly by. So, we will just be jumping right in on the first project around the house! A huge thanks to Stephanie at Casa Watkins for putting this fun “New Year- New Room” challenge together, sourcing the sponsors AND giving me a huge motivation to tackle and focus on this space in our home. For the first project of the year, I am going to be tackling the kid’s bathroom.  Here it is currently- as you can see I have done nothing since we moved in. The room Is fairly   updated, however I just haven’t given it any attention in the 2.5 years we have lived here and it just looks…sad.        My plan to makeover this bathroom is to brighten up the the walls and add some fun accessories. I’d love to see a fun wide planked accent wall and some boy friendly art. My hope is that this is a room is good for their current ages but it is also a room the boys can easily grow into by using classic elements and decor. (they are currently 8 and 5) So here is the plan: Alright, let’s go ahead and make the to-do list below so we can see progress each week. That’s the best part of these challenges- crossing off the to-do list! I will be checking in on Tuesday’s for the next couple of weeks and the final reveal is January 28th.  Kid’s Bathroom Makeover To-Do List
  1. Fresh Paint on Walls & Ceiling
  2. Statement Wall (painted wide planks behind vanity)
  3. Art
  4. Accessories (step stools, towels)
  5. Rug and bathmats
  6. Under the Sink Organization
  7. Window Treatment
  8. Shower Curtain
  9. Updated light fixture
  10. Updated cabinet hardware
Be sure to check out all of the other spaces that will be updated as part of the New Year, New Room challenge below. And a big thanks to our sponsors!

Can’t wait to see how you do the statement wall. That sounds really fun! It looks like you are pretty much starting with a blank slate. Looking forward to after pics!
