Good Monday morning to you! I am thrilled to report that I have been keeping up with the Style My Closet Challenge so far this month! We are 1/3 of the way through! If you missed it, last week my blog bestie Rachael at This is Our Bliss and I kicked off a 30 day style challenge encouraging ourselves to just wear the dang clothes in our closets. And my biggest takeaway is that THIS IS HARD! Ha! Now I remember why I wear the same old things all the time. It has been challenging, but I am definitely up for the challenge and enjoying it.
Here are a few more takeaways I have already noticed by doing this for 10 days:
- Apparently, I wear a jean jacket ALOT- and wore one 4 of the 10 days. Thinking I could add a new cut or color and it is something I would likely get lots of use out.
- I grabbed a pair of shoes I LOVE but rarely wear. Turns out they really hurt my feet. So into the donate pile they went! This is EXACTLY what this challenge is all about.
- As I was trying to put together some outfits, I made notes of some items I am missing that would really help pull some things together so I am going to be on the lookout for those: white jean skirt, denim jean skirt, cute jean jacket, spring colored jeans, light spring weight and spring color sweater, tortoise belt.
Alright, so let’s take a look at what I wore the first 10 days of the Style My Closet Spring Challenge…
DAY ONE || Style My Closet Challenge
Road trip comfy… but make it cute! I wore this for a travel day to Highlands, NC.
Jean Jacket: Old Navy
Dress: Target
Crossbody Purse: J Crew
Necklace: Twine & Twig
Sneakers: Golden Goose
DAY TWO || Style My Closet Challenge
Carolina Blue for Day Two! We were in Highlands for the Carolina Final Four game so of course I packed my Carolina Blue!
DAY THREE || Style My Closet Challenge
This was the travel day home from Highlands. It was cold and we stopped and grabbed the puppy! I have this vest from J Crew in black and navy- this one is similar.
DAY FOUR || Style My Closet Challenge
Sweet as a Peach for day four! I haven’t worn this graphic peach tea in forever so it was fun to have a reason to pull it out! It’s no longer available, but linked some other cute “peach” graphic tees along with the skirt HERE> GET THE DAY FOUR LOOK
DAY FIVE || Style My Closet Challenge
Another day, another jean jacket outfit!
DAY SIX || Style My Closet Challenge
This was another travel day for me, so I opted for an outfit that I knew would be comfy and tried and true.
Brown Cardigan: Old Target
Yellow Blouse: Trina Turk
Cream Crop Jeans: Old J Crew – I tried to find something similar HERE
Necklace: Stella and Dot
DAY SEVEN || Style My Closet Challenge
Had a random lunch date with the hubby so decided to pull out a skirt.
DAY EIGHT || Style My Closet Challenge
This cute top is from Target and I actually bought it in lavender, black AND white! It’s such a cute spring top and under $25. I am definitely keeping the white but having a hard time deciding whether I need the lavender one too. Shop the blouse HERE.
DAY NINE || Style My Closet Challenge
For my day 9 outfit, I was channeling the Masters Green Jacket and pulled out this old Target cardigan.
DAY TEN || Style My Closet Challenge
Masters Sunday! The freezing temperatures from Saturday left and it was a lovely spring day! So I decided it was the perfect excuse to pull out a pretty spring dress.
So what do you think? I would give myself an B+ so far. Did you have any luck pulling out a few things from your closet this month?
xoxo-
Heather
